gamertag change and digital downloads

My sons each have an xbox one that they use digital downloaded games exclusively. Recently they each changed their gamertag name for $10.00 (waste of money) after doing this they are no longer able to play any of their digital downloaded games..they will
load up but then say the servers are unavailable for ea games. other games wont connect either. My question is whan there is a gamertag change does it affect digital downloads? If I delete and redownload the game it works fine which leads me to believe
it is licensing issue. they have many games and do not want to redownload them all. Tried to delete gamertag and redownload profile and didnt fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

that is true all digital downloads are linked to sed gamertag if no gamertag is resent then no digital games will be present either

 

Ran into an issue with backwards compatible games. (Please Help.)

It gives you an option to download new profile (Gamertag). It will have you enter your email address and password, and everything should be there. I changed my Gamertag last week and everything worked perfectly fine.

Changing gamertags willn't affect any games what so ever, EA games are known for their game servers to be down or server maintenances.

you can check those game servers to see if they are down or under maintenance.

Well versed on Ea games but it is not only them. Was also Black ops 3 which was fixed by redownloading game. Servers for Ea are up trust me when I tell you have checked before I came here and posted. They changed their names on diffrent days. Messed
with the first one for hours thats why when the second one changed his name and then experienced the same problems knew it was tied to the gamertag. These are digital download games

 

This is one weird situation, I like to say sorry to your sons not being able to play online on those games.

Have you hardreset the xbox one(s)? by holding down on the power button for 8 to 10 seconds, this may sort the problem out.

Are there any error codes when these message come up?. for example 0x03495.. etc..

 

I suggest calling xbox support via phone to see if it is licensing problem.

You might also try deleting the profile and re-downloading it. See if that helps.

Since you're using an Xb1. I would recommend clearing the alt MAC of the console to reload the connection. If you're experiencing connection issues to some or most of your games installed then doing this should clear the issues with server busy issues.

To do that. Just go to Settings > Network > Advance Settings > Alt MAC Address > Clear > Restart
