    Hi, i'm getting hate messages due to my current gamertag and i would now like to get it changed to Izzybhoy786 as soon as this gamertag is available, and would also like it to be checked if when it will be ready to be used. Thank You, Sincerely, Idris

    Change Gamertag Availability.

    Usually it is only a few minutes but it can take much longer for the tag to be freed up, as LIVE doesn't always synch up as quickly as it should.

    If you wish to change your gamertag you will need to pay for it. The cost is $10 to do so. There is no list as to if or when a gamertag will come available. You will only be able to change to a tag that is currently available.

    Support typically send people here with incorrect information about gamertags. onyx is correct. If you're getting hate messages you need to file complaints and block communications with those people. There is no way to get a free gamertag change.

    Sorry, but she was incorrect. If you want a new tag you will need to pay for one.

    The only time changes are given are through forced gamertag changes. Those are only given if a gamertag is found to have violated the code of conduct (which yours doesn't). Even then you are given a randomly generated tag and not one of your choosing. You
    would still have to pay to change it to something you want.

    I want to go back to an old gamertag on my xbox account, but it claims it is taken.

    When a gamertag change is made the old gamertag becomes available immediately.

    If you are trying to change the gamertag back to the old one and it is says its not available then its not available.

    So the gamertag that you are wanting back is PowerUpVoltage

    The problem is this MS made a new policy a couple months ago where any new gamertags including changes in gamertags have a limit of 12 characters.

    The old gamertag is 14 characters so this is why it is not available for you to change your gamertag back.
