Gamertag Already Used?

Hey there! I wanted to change my gamertag for 'Lepou' because in first place I wanted 'Lepou' but it was unavailable for the reason of "Already being used" so I went with ''. Then I went online to take a look at it and it seems like it's not found, anywhere.
Even on xbox I tried to message the gamertag and it said it was invalid. Usually, when a gamertag is banned, you don't get the same error, so I was wondering what's up with that one. Please, if you can let me know what's the problem, it would make me happier
than ever, I really want it. :/

(Gamertags do not contains the ', only the word inside)

I can't change my Gamertag (GT).

Just because you can't friend request a GT doesn't mean it is available. First of all, all GT are tied to services like Zune or Games for Windows LIVE. If a GT doesn't exist on Xbox, it might be in use on one of those services. Also, spaces and capitalization
are not considered when looking for available GTs. For example, "Major Nelson" is the same as "MajorNelson" is the same as "MaJoR nElSoN". Basically if the service says the GT isn't available, it isn't available.

I heard old GTs are being re-added. When will "This GT" be available?

There is no schedule or estimated dates for when certain GTs will become available again. GTs are not an on-demand service. They will be available when they are available.

Yes gamertags are used across networks/services.

Basically if the system shows that the gamertag is already used, it will be unavailable even if you can't find/message it.

note: be aware that uppercase, lowercase and space differences don't make a name unique. ABC is the same as AbC, Abc, a b c, ab c etc

 

Yeah,gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live.If it says that tag is taken then it's unavailable,there's no way to get that gamertag

 

The only thing you could do is try to change it, or you could contact microsoft directly to check if the gamertag is taken.

 

there is no way to check it if is taken all he/she can do is try to change it if it wont then it is taken. plus the system does not recognize caps and spaces so Lepou LEPOU and L e p o u are all the same tag. and the tags like the others said can be used
on Zune and windows PC games, you will just have to think of another name or a variation of the one you want (try subbing numbers for letters or add numbers etc).

 

The name LE POU is already taken. It has a space in it, which is something you never checked for.
