Gamerscore opinion

Hi I spoke with 2 agents and they agreed with my opinion wanted to see if you guys will as well I thought instead of the gamerscore points being used as a way for to show off how good we are at the games why don't we use the scores as a way to buy games
and skins for the certain game and we can earn the points back if we want to refund the game

Sorry but that's the only option if you want to start over with your gamerscore. Hardly worth losing your gold membership for the sake of wiping your gamerscore in my opinion.

Try and get a gamerscore reset from a moderator on xbox live, but personally you shouldnt mod in my opinion it ruins the enjoyment of games, but thats my personal opinion.

It is an interesting idea. Have you posted it to the feedback site - Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice - yet?

 

That's been brought up for years. The only problem I see with it is, there are already enough people out there who have modded their gamerscore. If they offer it as a form of currency, that's just going to increase.

 

As Smwutches mentioned. It wouldn't work due to people modifying their Gamerscore. I personally don't mind the Gamerscore system as it is.

While I don't think it would work due to people gaming the system, it never hurts to put it up on the IDEAS page.

Gamerscore has been used in the pass for the old Rewards Program and has been used to show off in yearly stats.

 

Interesting idea, but how does the owner of the content monetize the purchase? Someone had to create the content, which is time and money. Also, would that mean that your Gamerscore would decrease when points were spent?

I like the system as is, but that does not mean I wouldn't enjoy something new...

 

Skins and avatar accesories used to be able to be unlocked on the 360 when you unlocked certin acheivements. Monotizing gamer score , in my opion would not be that great , you work hard at getting it just to give it away for something that in a few weeks
you will never use again? Its like spending a bunch of money on loot boxes , and when a new version of a game comes out and the rewards dont carry over , then what?

 

It's an interesting idea PhantomVirus, and definately one i'd like to see brought in in some way. However there's always the fact that content will need to be sold and profit will need to be made in some way. It'd be interesting to see how it could be
used though

 

Interesting concept but as others have stated, this may detract from publishers/developers opportunities to make a profit. As a counter, I would LOVE a comeback of avatar rewards tied to specific achievements. I still remember keeping my medkit avatar
item equipped, it was unlocked from Left 4 Dead 2!

 

I just feel the way gamer score is acheived is just too random for this to be a thing. Good idea though.

I do miss the days when unlocking certain achievements would get you a gamerpic to use or an avatar item, that would be cool if that came back.

It is just a pity that Microsoft decided to put the back burner on their plans to introduce a career system to run alongside Gamerscore. I love Gamerscore and Achievements but it would be cool to still feel that level of progression in a game long after
you have unlocked the Achievements for it.
