Gamerscore gone when I try to connect?

So I bought my xbox 360 a few years back, and had Gold Xbox Live for a couple of years. Then I stopped buying the subscriptions because I was using it less. I carried on playing on my account (offline), and recently wanted to connect to Live again. However,
when I now go to play after connecting to the internet, it says I have no Gmae history, and no gamerscore. It shows it perfectly normally when I'm offline, but when my Xbox is linked to the internet, it just stops showing it.

Do I need to get Gold again, or is this just a glitch?

Gamerscore disappeared.

Lost connection whilst playing... When i log back in my gamerscore is gone...

 

Gamerscore deleted, Avatar missing yet kinda still around

I have the same issue today! I was playing Skyrim than noticed when replying to some friend's messages that my avatar image was gone so i went back to the dashboard to see my gamerscore is gone!!!! WTF?!

Since you haven't been connected to Xbox LIVE for a while, I would suggest that you make sure you've updated the security proofs like
phone numbers, alternate email addresses, and security questions and answers to your Microsoft account. This information is essential to ensure that your account is well protected and meets the security
standards Microsoft now provides.

With your security proofs being updated, let's focus on the next steps: Clear system cache (three times in a row) and download your profile from LIVE.

Clear Xbox system cache (3 times in a row)

1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
   
2. Select Storage or Memory.
3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
4. Select Clear System Cache.
5. Important: Clear your Xbox system cache 3 times in row.

Restart your console.

Download Xbox LIVE profile.

1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
   
2. Select Download Profile.
3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
4. Enter your Microsoft account password.

Post back and let us know how that goes and we'll go from there.

 

If I have other profiles on the console, should i put those on a memory stick while I do this, or will they be ok if I leave them on the console?

 

You will need to buy Xbox Live sorry. That's the only way you can get you stuff back and all the game history!
