@Koolaid, Easy solutions for scratched disks that will require no money. If one of their friends has the game, have them come over and install the game to the HDD. I know from experience this works 99.99% of the time on the
360. I have not had an issue on the X1 to test the same solution. But would think it would work the same, because the console is just checking for the disc. And if you need to buy another copy, just get it. Then follow the above steps and then return it
the same day. Or wait a few days then go to a different store within the same company(referring to Gamestop, in my case).

Koolaid, I completely relate. It is definitely a pain. Unfortunately, I have not found a way around that on consoles. We usually wait until we see a deal of buy one get one fifty percent off or we wait until we can purchase the game used for a decent price.
If you only needed two copies of a game, you can buy it in digital format and download it on the console that isn't used by the account tgat purchased the game and then redownload it on that accounts primary console. The only problem with that is that in order
for the purchasing account to use the content, it must be connected to xbox live.

My old avatar is even in the pic for the original post of this thread, sweet. I to am surprised this thread is around. Warms the heart and brings back fond memories of Halo 2 & 3, slayer (betrayal! LOL!)
