gonna use CoD as an example: what we did is purchased Black Ops 2 initially and all the dlc for one console. when we bought our 2nd console finding a used copy of the game was easy (shout out to Movie Trading Co). as for the dlc, all we did was login under
the GT that originally purchased the dlc and did a License Transfer. the purchasing account can log onto either and the content is good on both consoles for playing Live. granted, you are limited on LTs within a year so you kind of have to time them just right...
we're on our third console now.

That works for games we need 2 of, but all 3 of us play against each other on Halo. And due to my position in our clan I actually have 2 tags. My daughter is also in our girls only division. And I hate the idea of trading in any game we don't hate. I think
I may need a second income just for gaming.

This would be so much easier if they stuck to Lego games and didn't like FPS and war games like their Mama. Maybe teaching war strategy to them this year in History was a bad idea. At least they can game in the off times since they are homeschooled. And
the oldest's BF just scratched my BO2 because he didn't know to instal the disk to the HD to protect it (luckily I don't pay for the oldests gaming habits any longer). Paying to resurface a disk isn't fun.

 

I should note that a friend buys the BF season pass and I buy the CoD one and we license transfer. Maps I'm not so concerned with. It's the actual games.

 

@Koolaid, Easy solutions for scratched disks that will require no money. If one of their friends has the game, have them come over and install the game to the HDD. I know from experience this works 99.99% of the time on the
360. I have not had an issue on the X1 to test the same solution. But would think it would work the same, because the console is just checking for the disc. And if you need to buy another copy, just get it. Then follow the above steps and then return it
the same day. Or wait a few days then go to a different store within the same company(referring to Gamestop, in my case).

 

My second child will be arriving today. Liked the first one so much, I decided to order another one from amazon. It was weird though: the only offered 9 month shipping but I swear it got here faster than that. Way to go amazon!
