Gamer targeting female gamers

He sends females voice messages n texts asking them to perform sexual things over the mic or sent back in a voice message. Then if targeted female does not comply with his request, he then threatens to boot them offline (ddos) and take profile info from
them.

Let's see, if I had to create a ratio of gamers online that have been annoying, male V female, it would be 0/100.

I still have a few female gamer friends left on Live (mostly old college friends married to my friends), and play with them and other female gamer friends of there's occasionally, and they basically NEVER talk on mic except when in parties.

The shit they get in random rooms of idiot male gamers is why they DONT want people knowing they are female.

Your generalization of the female gamer shows that you have zero experience with them, and only with that of streamers trying to get you to watch/subscrive/donate to their channels.

I've noticed that too. I heard a story about some high school cheerleaders who used the Halo theme song as the intro music to a dance routine, but knew nothing about the game. These are the type of girls that make us look bad as a group. As an actual gamer who is female, I've stood in the supermarket checkout line buying video game magazines and had the cashier ask me if I was buying them for my boyfriend. It was kind of insulting that he never considered for a second that the magazines could be for me.

My daughter and I are both gamers. We own a combined 200 games, more than half of them are mine because I've been alive longer and had more time to collect them.
We have several different consoles. We use video game jargon like "cel shading" and "QTE" in our everyday conversations and we follow Sega and Hideo Kojima on Twitter.
My Kasumi avatar is not random. My daughter and I freaking love Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden.

It sucks that we're lumped into a group with the airheads and button mashers, and the girls who play Bejeweled and themselves gamers. At least there are celebrities like Aisha Tyler and Morgan Webb who have raised the profile of female gamers and called attention to them in a positive way.

 

You are an ambassador, you should know the reporting procedure.

 

I agree with Owen; as an Ambassador, you should know how to report somebody via the console. You should also know that naming and shaming on the forums is not allowed.

We knew that, what you should have done is inform the person that has played with them to do the reporting and advised them how.

Actually, that's not true. You can file a complaint against somebody that you haven't played with. I have done so upon seeing some very offensive gamertags. You cannot review a player that you haven't played with, but you can easily look up a gamer and
report them for a violation of the Code of Conduct.

 

You used to be able to send a friend request and do it via their profile, by the sound of it they have made it easier than that, i can`t remember the last time i reported anyone.

 

Actually attempts to extort sexual activity are illegal and can be reported to the police.

You can report it on the non-emergency number and action will be taken against them.

Rather than working through the Enforcement Team the Police will simply contact Microsoft's Police Liaison Team to obtain the required records so that the offending party can be prosecuted.

 

It's funny though, the ambassador program doesn't make it compulsory to know that information to be apart of it. So should he really be expected as an ambassador to know this?

hehe, you know I'm just being difficult, as we all know, the vetting process for the program isn't very good. Take a look at the real ambassador in this thread OP and follow their advice/example.

No, don't report to the police. To report them, just go to their profile on your PC and there is a button to report/block and then do both.

 

Yes, Owen, it's actually very easy now. Click on my forum card to the left and you will see a "Report or Block" option on my Xbox.com profile. You and I have never played together, to the best of my knowledge, but you can still report me via the website.
You can search for me via the Xbox One and report me that way. I believe that you still need to send a friend request on the 360 to get the profile to show up, but you can still report it that way and then just cancel the friend request.
