Gamer tag

So my gamer tag "[Mod Removed - Inappropriate]" has been reported (suspiciously after a fruitful stint on BF1). I haven't upset anyone, my headset mic isn't working anyway nor have I messaged anyone, so all I can think is someone who I got
the better of has maliciously reported my gamer tag which I have had for almost 17 years on xbox and since xbox live went, well live (or a year or two after) without previous complaint. I am now stuck with [Mod Removed - Personal Information]
and required to pay £7.99 to change it. To rub salt in the wounds I dislike horses (historic experience...no not in that way) and find this offensive (you hear me MS?!).

Anyway my question is; do actual people review the reports or is there an algorithm? I do not see how the tag is deemed as a profanity or breach of CoC.

Also I have appealed. What is the usual turn around for refusal or reinstatement (if they even look let alone review appeals)?

I can't remember off the top of my head if you're able to appeal the change.

 

The enforcement team are a group of real people so it's not just an algorithm that determines a forced gamertag change. It can take a few days to receive a response. However, I can see the enforcement team upholding their decision on that one. It doesn't
matter if you've had a gamertag for 10 minutes or 10 years. If it violates the code of conduct, the enforcement team can change it.

 

Yeah got the email been to tge enforcement page and appealed. So we'll see what non descriptive response I get

 

Reason for upholding? There is no profanity, or eluding to any form of group ot discrimination. My surname is Chester so it is a play on words with no sound basis for offence. I don't see the CofC breach myself. Why force a change to some random rubbish,
at least offer the opportunity to change it manually. After years of paying xbox live I now have to pay to change my new tag that I had no say in whatsoever?!

This appears to be saying to me that if I get a little miffed at someone online, all I need to do is get myself and a few friends to report someone's gamer tag and if they so much as allude to anything other than cake or unicorns they will be forced to pay
for a new one or settle for a cringy generated one.

What is considered content in Xbox Live?

Content is anything you create, share, use, or promote that another person could see or hear or otherwise experience, like Gamertags, profile information, in-game content, and videos.

What are examples of content that is prohibited in Xbox Live?

Content that is controversial. For example:

• Sexual, provocative, pornographic, or adult content
• Violent content
• Controversial religious content
• Anything involving notorious people or organizations
• Anything involving sensitive events, current or historical

• Content that promotes, or sounds or looks like words, phrases, puns, images or imagery that refer to any prohibited content

While you may have meant it as a play on words, the 2nd word is very similar to the name of a male body part as well as slang for a woman's body part.

 

It doesn't work like that. The enforcement team investigate every complaint they receive and will only issue a suspension/forced gamertag change, etc. if they determine the person has done something to violate the code of conduct. It only takes 1 valid complaint
to have the enforcement team investigate, so asking friends to file complaints doesn't mean anything.
