Gamer Tag Transfer

I have been attempting to transfer my gamer tag between emails.

Frankly this has been a nightmare, due to the fact you automatic create a gamer tag as soon as I log in AND an account must be 30 days old to transfer a tag to it, there is simply no way to transfer from one account to another as I can't delete the automated
one that I don't want AND I can't transfer it to an account younger than 30 days.

The upshot this is I have to create a dummy account with false details (against YOUR t&cs) the wait 30 DAYS to make it eligible to receive a gamer tag, then transfer off the one I don't want and THEN transfer the one I do want to that account.

You need to either stop auto-creating gamer tags, remove the 30 day wait, or allow for the deletion of gamer tags from accounts.

Note: I'm aware this has been raised before, I just want to make sure I'm not missing something (I've looked through posts and chatted to customer service) but there are some fairly simple solutions to this.

Do Xbox 360 achievements transfer to Xbox One?

your over all gamer score will transfer as that's tied to your gamer tag not the console. the individual achievements will have to be earned again on the xbox one as others have already said.

Hey mate, as far as I know it will only auto create a gamertag if you log-in to the Xbox website with an email address that doesn't have a gamertag and you should be doing this process on the Xbox 360., so that's the only thing that sounds a bit funny to
me. I'll leave the link here to make sure they are the steps you're following, but you seem to know the process well:

or if its just the gamertag then just change the gamertag

and for future references

1 don't log into a ms account site like games for windows zune or xbox.com if you want to create an new windows live id

live sites like outlook.com will do emails without generating an gamertag
