Thanks for bring your awesome idea to the forums! I think you have a great and unique idea there I really do! Have you thought of posting it on Idea drive? I for one would really love this feature brought around as I would like to drop the numbers from my

9 out of 10 scenarios, deleting the profile is ultimately unnecessary. There are some cases where a form of profile deletion is helpful but simply re-downloading the profile should always be tried first by using the ‘download profile’ option in the sign-in
menu. Imagine deleting and re-download your profile, only to realize that their profile was in a state where it couldn’t be re-downloaded you'd loose everything and be starting all over again.

There is already a policy in place for this. If the person does not sign into their account for 5 years (starting in 2016) the gamertag will be freed up. Keep in mind that the gamertag system is in use on other Microsoft services as well, so even if it's
not in use on an Xbox, it may be in use somewhere else.
