  2. Gamer Tag Removed?!

I was in the middle of a Fifa 15 match when i was logged out of my account, i then went to sign back on and received a message saying my GT was in Violation. I have had my gamer tag on xbox one for more than 8 months and on the 360 for years. If in fact
my GT was somehow in violation of something, which couldnt be because i created it and used it for years. That means the Terms of service must have changed, and if that were the case i was never given the chance to decline or accept the new t of s. Which in
it self is a violation one would think. I went on to live chat and the guy i spoke with told me via direct link to come here and post. Which i thought was odd, but here i am. Any response from an Xbox Rep would be appreciated.

Just because you created it and had it for years doesn't mean it wasn't a violation the whole time. There are things that the system doesn't automatically see as being a violation, but the context of certain words could still violate the terms. Whenever
the terms are changed, you have to agree to them before you can get back online. The last time the code of conduct was changed was January 2014.

You will need to post here for an official answer as to why it was changed -

I accidently bought two movies in French but oh well. I still watched them anyways. But deleted them later on from my movies.

You paid to change your old tag into one that violated the code of conduct.

The offending tag was changed for free to the one you have now.

If you want to change it again you will have to pay.You will not get a free name change.

Hello, You will need to post in
THIS forum to get an official answer from the enforcement team. However your warning came in the form of the Code of Conduct that all players must agree to before playing on Xbox LIVE.

    • If you create a Gamertag that has been determined to violate the Terms of Use or Code of Conduct, the system will automatically choose a new Gamertag for you.

bowski477 is correct but the problem is that with the introduction of Enforcement United, things aren't as clear as they should be.

Enforcement United is a program where Ambassadors, who aren't Xbox employees and just regular gamers, get to vote on if a gamertag is offensive or not.

If most of them agree that it is then a forced name change is issued with absolutely no input from the Enforcement team themselves.

This means that enforcement action on people's accounts is being issued by volunteers, not Microsoft employees.

Bowski is correct. Vote, as we've explained a few times that IS NOT the case. The Enforcement Team is in fact involved, thanks for not spreading false information. Yes people vote on them and yes there is input from the enforcement team.
