    Gamer tag randomly changed


    I logged onto xbox live and went to sign in and it said I have to download my profile again. I entered in my information then my gamer tag was all a sudden JollyKid3626959. I never got a warning or a notification saying that my gamer tag changed. I would
    like to change my gamer tag to something else for free.

    Hi

    If you gamertag has been changed like this then you may have received an enforcement action reference your gamertag. You should be able to use the
    Xbox Enforcement web site to confirm this and request a case review if you wish.

    My gamertag changed without me changing it and now I can’t change it back to what it was without paying $10.

    Sorry when you get a random name change like that you will have to pay to change it to something else. And yes you did get a warning it was the code of conduct you agreed to that said you have toake sure your tag is rated E for everyone sorry.

    To add to what M3tal Daz3 said

    You get a free gamer tag change if you were given a randomly generated gamer tag when you first set the account up.

    If you got to pick your own gamertag at the time you set your account up or if you changed it from the randomly generated one then you would have to pay for a gamer tag change.
