Gamer tag Problems

Hello. My gamer tag has seemed to give me a lot of trouble online. I have been ridiculed,antagonized,and bullied. My gamer tag is in reference to a famous musician (one who is not very well liked). Every time I play with people online it seems someone has
to bully me or ruin my time over my gamer tag. I went to change my gamer tag on my xbox and was asked for a payment to change it. I have been a member of xbox live for over four years. I thought to myself, why do I have to pay to stop getting bullied when
i pay to be on this service every month. So that has landed me here. I would really just like to get this issue over with and enjoy my gaming. This has happened hundreds of times to me all over my gamer tag. I could block people, but then i would be blocking
people every day just because of this issue. I really just want to change my name to P DUBS 813 . That way i will never have this problem again and enjoy playing with people online. Thank you - Paul

Sorry but if the issue is with the gamertag itself then no one here will be able to help. Your friend will need to contact phone support himself to try and get this resolved.

Well, if that's the case, then the ONLY option is to call support and go thru their infamous "account verification" process. You can get an email version as well. You have to answer various questions about the account like name, address, phone, etc. The
problem that everyone seems to run into is that they cannot remember one or more of the correct answers...and MS will not tell you what questions you missed. If this happens to you, the good news is that you can keep trying...I had a problem with the correct
WLID and password and it took me some 6-8 months and 6 of the email forms to finally get the answers correct. BTW, don't start questioning the agents about your password...they don't know it. It would be stupid for somone who can see your WLID to also have
your password. Good luck!

If you're being harrassed online you need to file complaints and block communications with those people. You can change your gamertag, but you will need to pay to change it -

This is every time i go online and play with random people. I am a very active gamer. I Don't want to complain every couple times i'm in a random match. The harassment is not going to go away. This has been a long going issue. I do not feel I should have
to pay if I am getting harassed.

I was told to post on here and contact the enforcement team. Am i getting the run around? I am unhappy with how i am being treated online to the point where i am getting uncomfortable to join and meet random players online because I'm being ridiculed for
my gamer tag.All i want to know is who i have to talk to, to get this issue resolved?

As Smwutches as stated. There are no more free gamer tag changes. Even when Enforcement finds your name to be in violation you get a shiny new random generated name. You get 30 days to change your name for free after you create it. After that you are charged
the 9.99.

No one is intending to give you the run around. The fact is support wills end people here and they are in total error. Enforcement only replies and responds on the suspension forums. They never read this forum ever.

As stated above - keep reporting the people and blocking them. You will need to pay the money to have it changed. I see nothing wrong in your name that would cause any ridicule.

Support never helps me. The only time I was helped was signing me up for a monthly subscription. Go figure.

If it says the tag is not available then it's not available.

Gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live.

Both Onyx and I are xbox ambassadors, and we do not work for microsoft in any way. We are gamers just like you that try to help others. Most of the time, on these forums, you will get replies from ambassadors, and most of the time, what those ambassadors
tell you, is what needs to be done. While I understand you are frustrated, please understand that we take time out of our own lives to try to help others resolve the problems they are having. You might get a reply from Official Support, if they have ideas
they think might help, that an ambassador has not already suggested. But at this time, I believe that what Onyx has told you, calling phone support, is really the best bet at getting this resolved.

We already tried that! I feel we keep getting redundant responses like believe me we tried it all before we landed here. If you dont have an answer that isnt common sense please stop replying we need an actual solution.

Also, make sure he has you set as a Friend, not a Favorite. I found this cured a similar problem I was having with certain friends I had set as favorites.
