Gamer Tag not updating

-Log out of your account and log back in

-Try waiting for 10 minutes

-Contact Xbox Customer Care

Thanks for coming to the forums. Is the Houdini202 an old gamer tag of yours? The reason why it is showing is you play on Activision account for Call of duty games. You will need to update the gamer tag with Activision, for it to show the correct gamer tag.

Thanks for coming to the forums. Unfortunately, there is no way of removing the suffix. They added the suffix so many people could have same gamer tag. Example if multiple people wanted John smith then the suffix gets added to tell people apart. When making
a gamer tag, it will show you what the gamer tag will look like. If it is a unique one that no one has it will not show the suffix. Please make sure you check these when going to change gamer tag. There are a few gamer tag checkers out there that are not correct.

Thanks for coming to the forums. With the new gamer tag update if a gamer tag is taken which Major would be, a suffix is added to the end of it automatically. You can read the

gamer tag update page for more information. There would be no way to reset it or change unless you pay for the change.

Some times its its bec if a gamer tag was already used and banned in the past noone can use that tag. That even goes for some bans that involve people falsely reporting tags. They were suppose to change it with the gamer tag update but they might still
have a banned tag list
