    Gamer tag name recovery


    My new Xbox )ne developed a problem and had to exchange it for another new one. I forgot to document the gamer tag names from the previous box. Is there a way to recover the gamer tag name now that I don't have the previous box? I can remember all of the
    name but the last part of the name contained numbers and I don't recall the numbers. It's just 4 digits. If there a way to recover that gamer tag?

    game tag recovery !!!!

    On you old console sign into your gamertag, then go to Setting > Account > Go right to 'Your Information" > Select "Account Security" > select "Change Windows Live ID", then "Yes" > The next page will tell you what the email address
    is. It's up to you to know the password.

    Alternately: Put a USB memory into your old console then sign into your gamertag. This is a three step process.

    Step 1:

    Go to Settings > System > Storage > Portable Device > Configure.

    Step 2:

    In the Storage section go to the Hard Drive > Gamer Profiles > Select your Gamertag > Move > (You'll be signed out) Select the USB memory.

    Step 3:

    Plug the USB into your new console. You'll be able to access your gamertag from the USB.

    If u know all the account info it should not be a problem: the gts alone won't help.

    If you can recover other profiles besides your own, you will need to give phone support a call about the issue at 800-4MY-XBOX.

    Are all your old games there still and your gamer points, or is it a completely new account?

    If everything is still there, you may have had the gamertag reset. This could be because it violated the code of conduct. You can check here: https://enforcement.xbox.com

    Also if your account has not been used for some length of time, your gamertag may have been released back into circulation.

    unfortunately as your ex owns the microsoft account there is nothing that can be done.

    Microsoft account and gamertag are tied to each other and only the owner can use it.
