    Gamer Tag is using real First and Last name


    I bought an xBox One today and as I was setting up I had to call support. After many questions answered the agent suggested I use an old Hotmail account. I have a gamer tag associated with an older Hotmail account. My First and Last name is my gamer tag
    as when I went to choose a gamer tag and click sounds good it asked for $9.99. It is late so I went to chat support and they navigated me here to solve my problem. Which to make clear is my gamer tag was thrusted upon me from an old 2007 Hotmail account I
    used to sign in. I changed the primary email to the game tag name I want but still left with first and last name. Chat support said I could resolve this here and choose my gamer tag fresh as I was not told this old email account would come with a gamer tag.
    Please assist...thank you

    XBOX ACCOUNT NAME WONT CHANGE

    I ONCE HAD MY XGN(XILEDGAMING NETWORK) CLAN TAG AS THE NAME ASSOCIATED WITH MY GAMERTAG AND NOW WHEN I TRY TO CHANGE IT BACK TO MY REAL FIRST AND LAST NAME IT WONT SHOW UP ON MY PROFILE. I NEED HELP WITH THIS PLEASE.

    If you have access to an Xbox 360 or Xbox One console, you can change your gamertag from there. Gamer Tag is using real First and Last name ;)

    Didn't understand all u said but it sounds as if ur tag may have been assigned based on ur old hotmail acc. settings, and u may have missed a few steps while signing up. Yes it does cost 10.00$ to change it but since ur account is a silver u could try opening
    a new email acc on gmail or whatever and open a new acc on XBL using said email. Should let you choose a new one. U still might have issues tho if u assigned the 1st tag as home. Check the support forums n good luck.

    I thought each account allowed one free Change of Gamertag name? I suspect the account you have activated has already done this. I suggest grabbing a new MS account getting a random GT and changing it to one you won't for free. Any money in the original
    MS account will not transfer though and neither will games purchased.
