    With the newer gamer tag system the problem with is, 12 characters is to short, can there and will there be a small character increase to maybe 15 or 16?

    There's always a chance, but there's been no official word on if/when they would increase it.

    I believe, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, but the character limit is so that older games from the Xbox 360 era can still support them. If that is the case, I don't see a character increase happening any time soon, unless they can get all of the developers
    of all those older games to alter their code, which I also don't see happening with all of the studio closures, licensing issues and whatnot.
