Gamer tag change

hello. I am writing to you because my son tried to change his gamer tag and we were prompted to pay 9.99 for the change. We were under the understanding that one change was allowed for free. I chatted with customer service and they pulled up history of the
account and there had been two changes dated from 2013–neither of which were our gamer tag names. I feel as though this was posted to our account in error. We did not make that change in 2013. That was the year my son got his xbox and signed up with
at that time and has not changed it since.

Any help with this matter would be appreciated

Help with changing gamer tag

i want to change my gt to TidalSnow but someone else has already got it and I don't want to replace one of the letters with numbers so if someone could suggest how I change it up a bit to use it that'd be great.

I've tried it with a space between as Tidal Snow but someone's got that too.

The free change is only available if you were given a randomly generated tag when you created the account and are changing that tag for the first time. Since that tag is one of his own choosing, he will have to pay to change it.
