Gamer tag change

i rOkr, yes it would be great if i could switch accounts like that and tried to do it but it says i need to :

Sign in using your Xbox Live gamertag.

Go to settings and select Account.

where do i sign it,as it is not in my hotmail.com mailbox.....

hope this is not silly question as anything i try do do or readup sends me to the console!

thats what i measn.... i am not called-- and thats what i need to get changed!

thanks Criosphinx but this is what i want to avoid,i wish not to change my email address because of a gamertag on xbox ...i use my email for everyday things so it has to stay, but gamertag needs go!

Problem is though Microsoft will be reluctant not to help with this issue, even in sensitive circumstances. If you don't want to change your email but you use your e-mail for every day stuff. Also just curious you mentioned you don't even have a console,
where a gamertag plays a big roll in the console itself as it's a personal choice be it may that you may not of even set one up. Now I know that windows phones these days are highly integrated with xbox, and I also know that it will only show when you open
up the xbox integrated application. Why would you need a gamertag change if you don't even use a console? And if it truly is just because it is upsetting as it was a gamertag that your deceased friend chose on your email address when he picked it using your
email and recovering it on his console to play on, which also seems a bit weird that he would use your email address to his console to make an account. You have to understand this sounds all a bit too far fetched being as you do not have to pay to set up a
microsoft account it is free of charge and so is signing up as a silver member to xbox live. Only real three solutions for this I can think of in this case.

1. Make a new emai. Address

2. Don't even go into the xbox application on your windows phone and you will not even see it.

3. Just pay the fee to change your gamertag.

As upsetting as this situation is, it is bad that you lost your friend and that his gamertag choice on your own email address is upsetting for you it is not real basis for microsoft enforcement team to act on it. It is neither their fault for the choice
of gamertag or your fault, in fact it's no ones fault. Bt if you do try to avoid going into the application that shows it on the windows phone it should be a bit easier for you. But I don't know why you would even want to go into that xbox application if like
you said you don't have a console or use xbox live.

Have you ever considered the thought of a factory reset to a new microsoft account, and setting up a different xbox account just for phone usage, you said you use your main email address for everyday usage, so why don't you:

1. Factory reset

2. Use the new microsoft account

3. Sign it up to xbox

4. Add a additional hotmail. Mailbox

This way you won't be greater with the old gamertag, and you can still use your email for everyday usage. Tsb he is something I would actually do myself if I was in your situation. As it won't great the old gamertag, but I will still have access to everyday
usage of my email
