Gameplay Experience

Any console you buy nowadays will always need to be updated to the latest firmware, and will always attempt to update any game with the latest patches. This all happens as soon as you connect it to the internet. Even the Xbox 360 is subject to updates. For
some people, the first day of console ownership is entirely spent downloading and installing games and updates.

If you just want to play single player, then just completely disconnect the Xbox One from the internet. If you want to play multiplayer, then your console is required to have the latest system update.

I suggest setting your console to "Instant-On" so it will continue to download/install updates when you are not actively using the Xbox One.

All new xbox ones need a mandatory update in order to work which is just over a 1gb download so shouldn't take long at all.

As Internet Expert said,games now are constantly being updated with patches,dlc etc.,it's the same on all platforms.

You'll need to follow their advice about Instant On or just playing while not connected to live if it's that much of an issue.

All I can say is it does get better after the first time you hook up your console but there will always be game updates.

Don't waste money on a cheap game for an average gameplay experience.

I never saw anything like that. My gameplay experience was pretty smooth.

Key distinction to me: my personal experience with the gameplay is different than the experience of the story itself. The gameplay is great, fantastic, I'll give you that. And the first two Mass Effects had some of the most epic & climactic storyline endings
I've ever been fortunate enough to experience in a video game. But the story for which you are fighting is what is rendered meaningless in the long run by ME3's ending, which unfortunately makes some people start to feel as if their gameplay experience was
all for naught.

Sure, the ride to get there (i.e. enjoying the gameplay) is the experience which truly matters, but for many that drive to even desire to play the game is fueled by their willingness to progress through the storyline, on trek to a meaningful conclusion which
actually echoes & rewards one for all that gameplay experience they had amassed over the course of 3 long games.

Most people migrated to the Mass Effect series initially for the story, not the gameplay. Love for the gameplay just kind of fell into place in time. And I think that's why there are so many taking issue with how it ended.
