Gamepass vs disc saves

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently inquiring about transferring save data across different versions of the game.

Witcher 3 Ultimate edition is different from the
Game of the Year Edition and the
base game. You will actually notice that this game also has its own seprate achivements.

Game data will not be able to transfer between these two titles. This was a decision as per the developers of the game.

I hope this was able to clarify any confusion this might have caused.

Digital copies work the same as the disc version. The data for the games themselves is separate from game saves, so using the digital copy vs. the disc will not affect anything else.

most of the time no, but the digital licence will supercede the disc version.

if you downloaded a game in gamepass for example then buy the disc version, there would be no point using the disc while that game is in gamepass, if it leaves gamepass then just pop in the disc and it should work fine (should but this is Microsoft lol).

I see Plants Vs. Zombies on the list of Xbox 360 games that are backwards compatible on the Xbox One. If you have PvZ on disc, you should be able to put the disc in the Xbox One, download the 360 version, and continue on with the 360's saved game data
(if you had it stored on the cloud on the 360).

Gamepass core is basivally gold ala psn plus with a limited library of 25 games that can be swapped in and out by ms unless you buy them

Vs ultimate which iincludes hundreds of games

Basically games with gold is done and over with

Replaced with a mini gamepass library = improvement with better quality games vs games with gold
