Gamepass PC - No option to update games, games not auto updating either

Hi there folks,

So, I've been digging around for an answer to this one for some time. Around a few weeks now, & I haven't gotten anywhere, except that it looks like this isn't uncommon, & it has been reported for nearly a year or so without an solution that works for me.

The gist of it is this;

I have MW5 Mercenaries installed on my PC, through my Gamepass subscription. I have the DLC, it all works fine.

However, the game will not auto update to the latest release, & I cannot find any way of getting it to do so. No options present themselves, anywhere I've looked, whether digging around myself, or following peoples suggestions on line.

But, when I uninstalled the game, & then reinstalled it, suddenly it was running the latest release.

This is, obviously, not a serious solution to the issue & I am hoping that I am just being incomparably dumb & not seeing a very obvious button somewhere. But I have been trying!

So, if anyone can point me to the button I am missing, you would be a super star.

If however, said button doesn't exist, I would like to suggest that updating games to their latest release (when available) should not require users to uninstall a game first.

Alternatively, perhaps there is something I am doing that is preventing auto-update or some such, in which case, again, please come to my rescue, because I am at a loss!

I'm sorry nobody else has been helpful - I came to this post looking for a solution myself and inadvertently found a workaround that doesn't involve uninstalling/reinstalling

If you open Microsoft Store and navigate to the game you want to play/update and then click play it should then start downloading a update if there is one.

It isn't a complete fix rather a better workaround... clearly something is broken on Microsofts end since just checking for updates in Windows Store won't find any
