Gamepass pc games installation causing BSOD

I have been trying for over a week to find a solution for Gamepass PC games not being able to install. I get a BSOD error as soon as the download starts or shortly after (less than 5 min). There is no reference code either.

This might be kind of a long post but I will list briefly the things I have tried. So I started by resetting the Xbox app and gaming services. I also tried to reset the windows store app.

I have tried multiple storage drives and they all do the same. I can download games through steam and epic games launcher.

I did a memtest and it checked out fine. My gpu is also fine. Drivers are all up to date and I even tried going to some previous versions to see if that might be the cause. I do clean installs with those.

I have tried a whole different set of ram and still happens. My cpu is a ryzen 5 3600x with a Rx 5600xt and 32gb of ram(less than a month old). This problem started a little over a week ago. I even tried to reinstall windows 10 as a last resort to see if it would fix it. I did sfc, dskchk, I did the getappxpackage through powershell.

I am at a complete loss as to what to try now. I'm the only user of the pc also if that matters. If anyone knows of anything else I can try I would really appreciate it. It's really annoying not being able to download gamepass pc titles I pay monthly to access. If anyone has found a fix that would be awesome. Let me know if and where I can find error logs if anyone needs to see them to maybe figure it out. Thank you in advance.

I've been playing Wasteland 3 for a week now on the Xbox app with a Game pass subscription. No problems installing. I haven't installed Halo yet to try

Have any of the BSOD issues come back after you made this post?

Did you have to add the Xbox app to the exclusion list as @michelemangili posted?

It's working fine for me now. I've installed and played several titles now with no issues.

I am using bitdefender antivirus and not avira. I think some folks earlier in the thread have advice for avira users.

Shutting down bitfdefender temporarily fixed the issue for now but I don't like to leave protection off because Microsoft release something very buggy. Should be fine while I play the game but it's a nuisance to not forget to put protection back on when I stop playing a game.

I have now uninstalled sophos endpoint from my personal computer. Medieval dynasty works now that I have done that.

I haven't done any testing since my last message (30 march) so I don't know if the updates changed anything. I think something should really be done, it's not normal to be forced to uninstall anti virus to be able to play games on the game pass.
