GamePass PC - Forza - Won't download & install

Once again (I've had this issue so many times with different games, not going to lie GamePass for PC just doesn't seem to work properly) I can't install a game from GamePass.

I started pre-loading Forza 5 last week, it didn't have chance to finish. Come along today to try and finish it up and it's disappeared from downloads in the XBox app and when I go to the Forza page it gives the install option rather than Paused - Continue option. Try clicking install, it says preparing and then after about a minute just goes back to install again.

I know the part that did download is still on the disk due to the filespace used but obviously can't see anything in the hidden folders.

Have tried resetting Xbox app, gaming services etc and still the same thing happens.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Or better yet could Microsoft just actually make this work?!

First, welcome to the Xbox community. In the case of Forza Horizon 5, some people have reported that the procedure below can help, I hope it helps you too.

1. Go into the Microsoft Store and search Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition.

2. Next you want to click on Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition and you want to click Install from the Xbox app.

3. This will take you to the Xbox app and when it takes you to the Forza game scroll down and look at the tab named "Included in this bundle" And click Forza Horizon 5.

4. This should take you to the regular Forza Horizon 5 game rather than the Standard Edition, And then you want to click install and this should download the game.

- If that works, the download will probably pick up where it left off.

Bought or downloaded via gamepass ?.

If bought then download via your ready to install

You only get that msg when you only download via gamepass

And yes I own forza 7 seperately

All Ubisoft games on PC Gamepass must install Uplay and use that to download the game and DLC. Gamepass only acts for authentication

This may be because game in gamepass aren't owned by the subscriber so it won't be in the ready to install section. Instead it will be in the gamepass section and from there it will check if you have a subscription before allowing you to download.

I want to play Forza horizon 5 on pc , can I play it with this subscription because it is the only game which download on my pc otherwise I tried fifa 23 it show you have to buy pc gamepass
