Gamepads not functioning correctly after upgrade to Windows 11

I recently upgraded to Windows 11. After the upgrade I found an issue with my gamepads. I use Dual Shock style gamepads, not XBox style controllers, but I have not had this issue until Windows 11. (They are not Sony controllers. The one that I primarily use is an Allnice brand, although I also have an Afterglow and a nameless chinese knock-off.
The buttons do not register correctly. When I press button 1, it registers as 2, when I press 2 it registers as 3, 3 registers as 4, and 4 registers as 1. I noticed this when playing a game, and then verified it by opening the Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers, then right clicking on the game pad, opening Game Controller Settings, then opening Properties. In the Test tab you can see which button is being pressed.

I have verified the issue with multiple controllers, and by connecting them to a PC that is still running windows 10. Different brands of controllers have different issues, but none of them register correctly, despite all of them working correctly on windows 10. (For example, my secondary controller, which is a cheap chinese controller, has buttons 1,2,3,4 register respectively as 2,4,3,1)

I cannot find a way to reconfigure the buttons.

If all your three controllers are presenting the same issue then it could be an issue with your PC itself as a fellow gamer has posted before:

"The reasons could be Power Supply issues, Power Management settings, Outdated or damaged USB drivers and damaged USB Ports.

Let us try these methods one by one and check if that makes any difference.

Method A: Suggest you to plug in the device and run the troubleshooter tool to automatically diagnose and fix Windows USB problems: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17614/...

Once this is done, restart the computer and check if that works for you.

I would like to let you know that there's a tiny pinhole on the back of the controller near a screw, by the L2 trigger button. Try pressing that in to see if it clears it up. In Windows 10, it just shows up as "wireless controller".

Alternatively, you may also want to connect the PS4 device to a different computer and check if it works.

Method B: You can also update the USB controllers from Device Manager to check if that helps you.

Press Windows key + X and click on Device Manager.

Double Click on USB Controllers to expand.

Right click on the USB Controllers that is listed and select Update.

Once this is done, restart the computer and plug in the device and check if that works."

That does not help me. For one, I do not have an XBox, so I cannot use that to roll back the firmware. Second, and I should have mentioned this in the original post, so I will edit after this, I use a dual shock 4 style controller. It is not a Sony brand Dual Shock, but I have three separate controllers that all exhibit the same behavior.

I have not, but the whole problem appeared after I did a clean windows 11 upgrade, so shouldnt that have had the same function? I had none of the Forza add-ons or expansions installed.

May we know if this gamepad is working fine if connected to Consoles or mobile devices?

I have not connected the gamepad yet to consoles or mobile devices. The connection would not allow it to be connected to a mobile device.

How about if this gamepad is connected to Windows 10 PC?

This gamepad connects fine to my other laptop that is running windows 10. It sets it up as usual installing the driver when it is first plugged in.

Is this gamepad working previously on the same PC?

This gamepad used to work on this laptop before windows 11 was installed.

When did this issue happen? Was there a recent Windows update or new application installed on your device?

This issue happened after windows 11 was installed. I have reinstalled windows 11 from a fresh image and still the problem persists. I have tried the wired controller mentioned above, a Bluetooth controller with a wireless dongle, and an official Playstation 4 controller. All of them have presented the same issue when trying to connect with the computer.

Was this a gamepad compatible to Windows 8 or 10 and Windows 11?

No gamepad that I can see online currently says that it is compatible with windows 11. Every gamepad I have bought has said that are compatible with windows 8 or 10. I assume this is because windows 11 is a fairly new product and they don't want to make claims that they are unable to substantiate.

Do we have issues connecting different (in design or brand) gamepad or controller in your PC?

This seems to be a major windows issue. I've noticed lots of people having this issue and most people don't seem to have been able to rectify the problem as of yet.
