Gamepad xbox one not working after trying update firmware on Windows 10

Hi,

Couple days ago, I tried to update the firmware of my xbox one gamepad on PC Windows 10.

I do not own an xbox one console.

My friend did update successfully update the firmware of his controller.

When we did the same thing with my controller, the App "Xbox Accessories" crashed while trying to update the firmware.

The result is that my controller can't even be turned on.

No power at all.

I tried all the combination of keys for trying a hard reset on the controller, with or without the battery in it.

Same goes with the gamepad plug with usb to the PC.

Same result.

Nothing happen.

The xbox accessories application just killed my controller.

This controller was working just fine before.

I only wanted to update it for it to be compatible with smartphone.

The version of my controller was 1.something, factory version.

It seems clear to me that it is not a bad action made by us but a flaw of the application or the controller.

How can i do to receive another gamepad to replcae this one gamepad?

Just so you know, I'm french and live in France.

I'm sorry if you guys have difficulties to understand what i've said earlier, not my maternal language.

Hope i'll finally find a solution for this since the chat bot isn't working at all, and i never have a respond of an employee.

PS: i've posted the same thing on pc gaming since it happened while controller pluggued on pc.

Thank you for you response.

As i said in my first message, yeah i tried it.

Plug it to the pc with or without battery.

No light on the controller, nothing sadly.

Because maybe your controller brick by the error on the app (on the update)

Thanks for replying. If possible, I would recommend that you attempt to connect the controller (wired connection) to an Xbox One console, if you have a friend/neighbor/family member who happens to have one since you do not, to see if you are able to

update the controller's firmware from there if possible. Any interruption of the update for the controller will make it non-functional so this may be a good troubleshooting step to try.

If you attempt this and it still is not functioning correctly, then you may wish to
contact Xbox Support by requesting a call back or chat to see what options you have regarding replacement if you're within warranty for the accessory.

Give the troubleshooting a try and let us know the results.
