GameDVR's 4k HDR is the wrong Pixel Format

If you record a clip in 4k HDR and try to upload it directly to YouTube it looks horrible, but still reports its an HDR video.
    (Raw Upload)

I did find that I can use ffmpeg to convert the HDR to SDR [converted
    HDR to SDR
    ]

But I also looked online and found something about Ingesting metadata into the file for YouTube to recognize it as HDR... [YouTubeHDR/hdr_metadata]
    [It still looks like Test1]

I tried that and I did indeed Got this message so it must be something that isn't being set correct when the Xbox is creating the files?

I just recorded two clips, one in HDR and one in SDR. It does show its BT.2020
    Imgur

I did check with ffmpeg and it shows a 4k HDR BluRay as:

    Video: hevc (Main 10), yuv420p10le(tv, bt2020nc/bt2020/smpte2084)

    and the xbox as

    Video: hevc (Main) (hev1 / 0x31766568), yuv420p(tv, bt2020nc/bt2020/smpte2084)

And if you remember the message YouTube told me when I uploaded about the pixel format.. I see the yuv420p10le on the real HDR video, and only yuv420p on the Xbox one?

Just used ffmpeg to render the pixel format as the yuv420p10le, and then added the Ingest metadata and it seems like it works!

    :)

    Xbox One X splitter

    Hello I bought the switcher:

    https://www.jtechdigital.com/j-tech...l-web-gui-control-and-spdif-audio-output.html

The problem is with xbox detects 4k but in display settings mark incompatibility with hdr or 10bits. If I connect the xbox without the switcher directly to the tv works amazing perfect. All formats inside settings of xbox test are green and allowed including hdr. What I note is that the TV samsung Q9FN detects that switch like not known but works excellent with nvidia shield and xbox works in 4k but not all formats, like I mentioned, HDR and 10 bits, etc. are marked in the test as not supported. But these formats works without problem if connected the xbox with just the hdmi cable to the tv, just through the switch is the problem.

Is there a 2 outputs splitter that can support the 10bits, hdr and all the formats that manages the xbox in the display settings test?

This is a picture of the xbox settings when is used through th switcher.

  3. No 4K without HDR (xbox one x)

you need hdr for 4k output

    Actually, you don't.

Uhd and hdr are required for 4k output

You need UHD, in the sense that you need the TV to support 3840 x 2160 resolution, but you don't need HDR enabled to reach 4K. UHD 4K is the amount of screen resolution available measured in pixels, HDR is the ability of the TV or monitor to display more
    natural colours.

Note that the Xbox One S can do HDR in games that support such a feature, but regardless of what resolution you set, all games max out at 1080P internally. If the display is 4K, it will remain in 4K, but games will only be upscaled. Only the Xbox One X
can play Enhanced titles in 4K natively.

You should be able to disable HDR, how you disable it depends entirely on your TV. Disabling HDR via the TV settings should not disable 4K screen resolution. Indeed, some Xbox One games do not support HDR, Fallout 4 on the One X can play in 4K for instance,
but it does not support (or indeed have an option for) HDR.

On my Sony Bravia Android based TV, I had to go to the main settings and enable HDR functionality. Even then, I had to set the HDR setting to 'Auto' on the HDMI port I have my console connected to. If you have HDR set to 'On' all of the time, non HDR games
will display the wrong colours, look oversaturated. With 'Auto' enabled, HDR will only operate when it detects an HDR supported game. This may not be a feature of your display however.

What make and model is your TV?

Xbox one X MUST SUPPORT FHD HDR!

    Better question would be WHY?

there is a reason why sony does 1080p hdr that was before hdr was finalized and even then sony doesnt support hdr properly I have a samsung 4k tv it doesnt do 4k hdr on ps 4 pro but yet if you know anything about the ps4 pro hdr youd know better youd be
lucky to ger it working on a sony 4k tv

Common man its a simple google search

You dont want ps4 pro hdr

Sony doesnt do 4k natively it doesnt have the power

What it does is expand your pixels to look like 4k aka checkered rendering.or upscaling

It shows in high speed sports games likr fifa

I had my samsung color synced proprrly yet everytime my ps4 pro refused hdr 4k or hdr 1080p which looks fine on paper not so much in actual support

1080p hdr was developed before hdr was finalized

Its very rare to grt a tv to even supporr thr proprr hdr10

At 1080p because most of them are more likely to have been made before 4k hdr was made

What kind of 4K tv do I HAVE to have to watch 4K on Xbox one s?

Do I need a new TV? (Skyrim Special Edition and the new Xbox One S)

I read that the Xbox One S will support HDR gameplay, but not 4k. 4k is reserved for Blu-ray playback and Netflix streaming, etc., but it WILL support HDR gameplay. I also read that Xbox One games will have to "be in HDR format" for example, the new gears
of war. I just don't know what I should do here!

    Hi KnightMawk!

Error (91d70000) is in regards to, "4K is supported by your TV, but not at 60Hz. You won't be able to upscale to 4K, but, depending on your TV, you may still be able to play some 4K and HDR content. To see what your TV supports, choose 4K TV details."
