GameDVR screencaps and clips - can't share even with Xbox Live Gold

1. I have an xbox live gold account (trial)
2. I am connected to live (as far as i can tell, i put everything into settings and see nothing that tells me i am not signed in)
   
3. In System Settings, i have twitter account logged in
4. Go to GameDVR (or Upload Studio .. really same darn thing)
5. At Filter select Screenshots
6. Select a screenshot
7. Press the "burger button" (one with 3 lines)

Result:

Choices are Set as Background, delete, help

I thought i would see a Share option or upload option.

How do I share and or upload Screenshots?



Would like to do so via twitter OR upload studio to onedrive and i am talking screen shots not captures (mp4s)



I have been able to successfully create clips and upload to studio and onedrive, so this is not a connectivity issue

Also, I did check my family/security settings and i am allowing sharing for all captures and screen shots.

sharing to xbox

sorry if this is a repost, but i havnt been around these forums in some time.. but even with game dvr on windows 10, i can't seem to find a way to steam or share clips from pc games to xbox live friends. i can record clips, and bring them up in game dvr,
but when i go to share it says the game is not recognized. i'm trying to share clips of CS:GO from steam to xbox feed. i do own both games on steam and on console, and it labels the game correctly when saving clips.. any help appreciated

 

Upload Studio clips will not share

This is happening to me too, some more information:

Any clips I edited in the "old" Upload Studio can still be shared (through messages, activity feed, twitter and showcase).

Automatic and manual clips can be shared with no problem. GameDVR clips can be shared too.

The problem arises when editing a clip in the new Upload Studio (which is amazing by the way!)

Any clips that have been edited in Upload Studio 2.0 no longer bring up the share menu, it simply says "Something went wrong. Sorry, we are unable to share this at the moment. Try again in a while.)

The clip still uploads to the official Xbox website, and can be played just fine on there and Smartglass - but cannot be shared anywhere else. Even the third party clip websites that scrape Xbox Live can't see these Upload Studio 2.0 clips, they simply don't
exist to them - so there's definitely some kind of difference on the back-end with these new types of clips.

I've done a full cold reboot (held the power button for 10 seconds until it switched off, left it unplugged for a minute and tried again), rebooted my router, closed all other games and apps before attempting to share etc etc. Nothing works.

This happened with all clips I created yesterday and all clips I created today. We're not the only ones - at least 4 people I've spoken to on twitter have the same problem.

 

P.S. So far MS support has yet to resolve this for me

You would need a full Xbox Live Gold subscription rather than a trial in order to share clips. I see now from your gamercard here on the forums that you have Xbox Live Gold, are you still having trouble? Let us know

 

Thanks Mister Maka. I forgot that I had signed up and paid for gold. But that has not resolved the issue. I simply made a mistake when giving my steps to reproduce. Note I contacted MS support last night and believe this has been escalated. However
I see no activity further. Ticket [mod removed]

Also note, as stated, I am able to upload CLIPS (video) to upload studio and onedrive. It is just screenshots that are not working.

Also note, if I attempt to SAVE a screenshot I get an error basically saying save failed with no useful info. When I say SAVE a screenshot I mean ..

1. Go to GameDVR

2. Filter on screenshot

3. Choose a screenshot

4. Press "burger button" whatever that 3 lined button is called

There is a SAVE option, but when i try that I get the error something like "save failed you fool"

When did you last reach out to phone support? Can you share what your detailed network statistics show up as under Network Settings?

 

Mystery solved. And it is a painful one.

So I took over 100 screen shots before I signed up for Live Gold. None of those are available to share.

Lesson for anyone reading this, if you want to share screenshots you must have gold at the time you take the screenshot. It's really dumb and isn't due to any kind of technology limitation. It's MS bad design to track some files as "not sharable" where
others are shareable. All dependent on paying MS $$$
