    GameBar not activating


    Win 10 Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.228)

    I tried to run the GameBar to capture an on screen demonstration. I have done this in the past, a couple of years ago in Win 10.

    The <WIN><G> shortcut is set, but does not invoke the GameBar.

    I went in to Settings > GameBar to confirm shortcut. It is set as expected.

    Then I found that the Gamebar does start, but only when the Settings dialog is displayed. But then it only captures that dialog in the foreground, over the actual application I want to capture. it only shows the mouse moving over the Settings Dialog.

    Can anyone recreate this so I can submit a feedback.

    Which games are you trying to play? Do you have other processes running so high on CPU causing Gamebar not getting any juice?

    Home button is not working

    Please double check if the Home button is being routed to Gamebar instead of Steam etc. For example, open notepad, press Win+G to bring up gamebar, you can temporarily choose Notepad as a game in the popup, follow the prompts, and choose the Gear icon for
    settings in Gamebar. There should be an option there to bring up Gamebar on pressing the Xbox Home button, my suspicion is that is turned on, if you turn it off, then Steam and other programs will see the Home button.

    However, since I posted it "magically" started working. I tried before running your trouble shooting suggestions.

    The activity status of the Xbox Game Bar on Windows 10 only shows activity information for certain games and apps that support it. The activity status will display "Online" if the game is online-only, and "Nothing" if the game does not support the activity status feature.     Game Invite sound in Windows even when the app is fully closed

    it comes through gamebar, open gamebar and you can adjust the notification there, or open setting and adjust notifications for certain times. gamebar runs all the time in the background and the only way to remove gamebar is via a shell command but then that messes up the invite system then.
