    Game Won't Start Up


    Every time I try to start the game I get 0x803f8001 error saying I need to insert disc or buy the game. the disc is in and the game installed with all my add-ons I bought years ago. Why Won't the game load?

    Won't Start up

    Try select Game square and then press "Menu" button (3 lines) and select "Quit" and if it didnt work, you can also go to "Settings" Tab and select "Restart" you console will restart and then try again starting the game

    If multiplayer not Loading then

    Here is what I did to get it to work:

    1. Start single player first.

    2. In multiplayer go to xbox live private match. ( Loads a lot quicker ) If you need to go to the Outfitter then do it now.

    3. Now go into public match. ( Also loads a lot quicker )

    My issue is not Multuplayer, it's the game itself. It win't load at all. It says the game might not be playable yet. To wait until the game is released.

    clear your cache.

    You can do this by holding down the power button on your console for 10 seconds.

    Retry afterwards.

    I have the same problem! Since the second to last Insider update my Xbox won't turn on after an update attempt during the night. Power brick is bright orange, while the Xbox is in instant on power mode. When I press the xbox logo it tries to play the start
    up tune but it doesn't and nothing happens. Only way to get it to boot is to unplug the power brick, let it rest for a while, unplug all USB devices and plug the power brick back in. After booting up, manually start the update again, and when it's finished
    plug all USB devices back in. And after that I have no problem booting anymore untill the next update attempt during the night.

    Hey Jester thanks for taking the time to bring this issue to us!

    We have seen this issue before so rest assured we are here to help. Before we get started though we need a bit of information, is there any external hard drives connected to the console? If not we suggest a reset since this would be the most thorough process
    of clearing out all the Caches. To perform a Soft
    Factory Reset     (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

    • There is a stable network connection.
    • The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)
    Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!
