    hi,

    I recently tried to play Star Wars the force unleashed with backwards compatibility on Xbox one with the disc. I got on and it asked me to choose a storage device, the only option was iCloud. About five minutes in it froze so I backed out and got back in
    the app after closing it. Again it asked me to chose a storage device so I chose the only option - iCloud - now when I press start to Enter the game, it says "load failed. This save game appears to be damaged and cannot be used" I don't care about this specific
    save. Anyways, it gives me four options: retry load, select different storage device, continue without loading, and cancel. I tried retry load it does nothing . When I try to select a different storage device, it gives me one option , the iCloud but this time
    it says it's unavailable. When I do continue without loading it doesnt let me save in the game. When I press cancel it puts me back to the main menu, only for me to press start and do the same process all over again with these four options. I don't care at
    all about this save, I just want to play the game through and be able to save my progress but it doesn't let me. What do I do now?

    Can you save new save data from Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One hard drive?

    I tried making a new save offline and found out that you can save games and have it stored on your hard drive. It doesn't require Xbox Live Gold to make new saves. That's a big relief. Xbox One backwards compatibility is awesome!

    No. Since the game is not backwards compatible it's seen as a different game so it won't see your saves from the 360. Also, the only way to transfer saves from a 360 is through the cloud so in a backwards compatible game it wouldn't recognize saves from
    a flash drive.

    Unfortunately the Trial version doesn't give you full features of Live. One of the features it is missing is the cloud save option. You will need to purchase a live Gold Subscription in order to use this feature. This will allow you to put your saves
    in the Cloud and allow you to use them in the backwards compatible games on the Xbox one.

    Just to add about game saves. You do need to save them to the cloud in order to use them on backwards compatible games. The One won't see them otherwise.

    So 360 Cloud saves for backwards compatible games automatically save to the Xbox ONE HDD when continued, allowing you to play/continue them in future without needing the Cloud.

    XBox One isn't backwards compatible with XBox 360 games, hence you won't be able to transfer 360 saves to the One.
