Game won't install after restarting (PC, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)

Hi, about 4 days ago, Forza Horizon 5 came out for Xbox Game Pass users, and I decided to download it. I went to grab something to eat then came back to realize my PC needed to restart because of an update. Forgetting about the download, I mindlessly restarted, and then realized I still had it downloading in the background when I clicked restart. I thought it'd be fine and then opened up the Xbox app to find out it wasn't in the install queue anymore. I went to the store page to click install again and then watched as it went into the install queue, said pending for about a minute, then left the queue without any error message. I checked for updates for the app and my system in the store and in settings, and I was all up to date. If it helps, I'm running Windows 11, have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and have more than enough storage. Thank you!

First, welcome to the Xbox community. Given the problem you are having, I suggest you try the procedure below.

(Some users have reported that this allows downloading the game)

On any of your PC's hard drives, please try the procedure below.

1. Go into the Microsoft Store and search Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition.

2. Next you want to click on Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition and you want to click Install from the Xbox app.

3. This will take you to the Xbox app and when it takes you to the Forza game scroll down and look at the tab named "Included in this bundle" And click Forza Horizon 5.

4. This should take you to the regular Forza Horizon 5 game rather than the Standard Edition, And then you want to click install and this should download the game.

- If that works, the download will probably pick up where it left off.

Game Pass Ultimate includes Gold, Game Pass for Console, and Game Pass for PC. As long as you're signed into the same account on both the PC and Xbox, you would have Game Pass on both.

You won't be able to access all Xbox games on the PC. Only games that are Play Anywhere or included in Game Pass for PC.

Game Pass Core is primarily for console. It won't do anything on PC. You would need either PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate if you're using PC.

It depends on what you bought. There's Game Pass for Console, Game Pass for PC, and Game Pass Ultimate.

If you only bought Game Pass for console, then it won't work on a PC.

Game Pass Ultimate includes both version of Game Pass plus a Gold subscription. So if you bought Game Pass Ultimate, you should have access in both places.

I have same problem, xbox app on pc won't recognize i have game pass ultimate. Mobile app dose.even on web it reflects, not chaked on consol. Microsoft store late me download, install & play game pass games.

It seems there is issue whith pc app. All usual measures does not help me.
