Game with gold on Xbox One (Question)

Hi,

I read on Gamespot :

"Xbox Live Gold members
only have access to the games included for as long as they remain Gold subscribers, although they can continue to play the free games they've downloaded even after their original price is reinstated."

What I don't understand is what they mean by only have access to the games as long they are Gold members... Does it mean that if a day I'm not Gold for a reason, I will not be able to play the game I downloaded for free? Will I be able to download it again
or it will say "redownload"?

I think they should give us the game forever instead of only a "rent a game"...

Question about XBOX One Games With Gold

I'm aware that on XBOX One, Games With Gold works differently then XBOX 360. If your Gold membership expires, you can no longer play your downloaded free Games With Gold on the XBOX One. However, my question is, if my membership expires, but after 1 month
I renew my Gold Membership, will I then be able to play my downloaded free Games With Gold or have I lost them forever once the membership expires?

I am new to Xbox One games with gold and just had a quick question...

I am a gold member, if I let my gold account run out, I understand I can't play this game any longer (like PSN) however, will the game become playable again if I re subscribe, or do you lose it if you let your membership lapse? (I mean when the game is no longer on Games with gold)

I can understand why they do it. Some people might just buy a month of gold to get a free game or two that they want and then never re-up their membership. The way it is now, they're just trying to secure memberships to sustain a steady income from that
division of the company. I'm ok with that.

 

I understand what you mean, but people who want the game and subsribe to gold for one month, for exemple, have to pay for gold...

it really is not a big deal... very simple.. as long as you are gold... play the games we gave you... if for some reason your account lapses or you forget to renew... nothing happens... you just cannot play all those free games until you become gold again...


even right now, I know of people who do not have an XB1, but are purchasing the GWG from the store... so when they do become gold... they will have those games (Max and Halo)

 

Sorry, just want to know why on Xbox 360 you can play the game you download even if you are not gold member anymore?

So in fact, it's better to buy games on Xbox One instead of having it for free if you want to play forever...

 

I'm not sure why it's different on the 360. Maybe that's the old rules on the 360 and then they thought "wait a minute, if we don't let them play them unless they're gold members, maybe they'll keep their memberships paid up". It's just a thought, but I'm
not sure. They can't really change it on the 360 now. Well, they can, but it wouldn't look good in the consumers eye.

 

You can keep them as long as you keep your gold account. When you cancel or you don't renew your live account you lose them on 360 they are yours to keep

 

It's MS's ace in the hole...... buy a membership.... get "free" games.... let it expire, all the perks expire with it..... simple
