    GAME WILL NOT START ON BUILD 14942


    I have installed the game. I am on build 14942. I have tried all other fixes. Drivers are up to date. Game starts to splash screen and then closes, event is below. (Forza Horizon 3 also no longer starts, it crashes after splash screen as well I can no long
    play this either.) Please do not suggest I reinstall Windows...

    btw, this only applies to Windows Insider build 14942 or higher.

    Same issue here on build 14931. GoW4 and Forza Horizon 3 will crash on start. But Forza Motorsport 6 Apex will run without problem.

    This is noted for the new Insider Build 14942 with the fix at the bottom of the page under "IMPORTANT NOTE". Excerpt is here:

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Xbox sign-ins may fail, as well, as a result of service host separation. To fix this issue:

    1. Run the following from an admin Command Prompt (or edit the registry accordingly):

    REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\XblAuthManager /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

    2. Reboot the system, so that XblAuthManager now shares a service host process with Windows Update and Background Intelligent Transfer Service.

    can´t login to the xbox app!

    Getting "Access is denied" with the XBOX and the Beta version of the XBOX app since updating to 14942. Disabled firewall, same message. Removed Microsoft account, added, same message. I can log in using the same account on XBOX.com, Microsoft, my Xbox
    One and no login issues. Just is an issue on my PC.

    Found this in another post on this forum. This worked for me with 14942.

    Cant login xbox / Windows live app

    I am having the same issue, I can log in to the xbox app on my desktop PC running the latest released updates however when I attempt to login on my surface pro 4 I get access denied. I am running the latest preview release (build 14942) so I am assuming
    it is something to do with the preview program (either the pin feature of windows hello)
