Game updating issues, slowed/stopped progress (Xbox Series X)

I've got a Series X and I live in a rural area with poor/limited internet so downloads typically take several hours for large files (I use ethernet for best connection because of it). Recently I tried getting an update for Halo Infinite (23 G) but it stopped after 150Mb. The progress bar would switch to a message showing "finishing things up, 17% completed" and switch back to "150Mb of 23G". It never downloads beyond that point though it'll occasionally add 2Mb. When I check the bandwidth usage tab, its still pulling bandwidth like its downloading but there's no progress. Every other app works fine. I can browse the internet, downloaded an App (PlutoTV) and it downloaded just fine and streams fine too. The issue seems to be strictly related to games.

I tried downloading an update for another game, same issue. This time it got up to 50Mb before stopping and showing the same message as before. To further see what the issue might be, I connected to my mobile hotspot to see if the game updates will download and they WILL download via the hotspot, but I don't want to download them this way because I have data limits on the hotspot. So is there some kind of random and odd internet problem going on? I've tried a couple of things like power cycling the console and clearing the mac addresses (seen it recommended), but the issue still remains. Any ideas what's up?

It shouldn't be a speed issue because while its slow compared to most, I've downloaded plenty of updates in the past with no issue. And I can still download apps and watch streaming services on the Series X as well. The issue is strictly related to downloading game updates for whatever reason and it seems to have started after the most recent System Update. I don't know if that Xbox System update has messed something up or if its just coincidence timing wise. If there's not anything I can try on the Xbox side of things, is there anything specific I need to tell my ISP about the issue? Just want to make sure I'm aware of everything before I contact them because in researching this issue, I've seen people with similar problems contact their ISP, their ISP says everything is fine, Xbox says its fine, and they just get stuck in a loop going back and forth with the issue never being resolved (at least they never post about what fixed it).

I highly suggest you contact our dedicated Xbox support team so that they can double check your account. You can contact them through this link https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us. When you are on the page, you can see an option to contact them via chat and via phone call.

When you contact your ISP, just tell them that you are having trouble on completing your downloads and if it is possible for them to double check your internet connection.

Hi,

Your drive will work the same on Series X as it does on Xbox One and you won't need to format it.

However, Series X games or Xbox One games with Series X enhancements will not run from that drive and will either need to be installed internally or to an external SSD designed for Series X/S.

Your hard drive will be too slow for Series X games. They can be stored there, but not run from there.

I am having the same issue with my Xbox series X. It seems to stop all downloads when in standby using instant-on. Wondering if this might require an update to fix?
