Game updates

I would just like to ask why in the world do I buy a new game hoping to play it, the installing part isn't terrible I'm just talking about the 2 gb updates or how a game can take 6gb on the 360 but how does it magically become 36gb on the Xbox one and yet
look nothing different. It just ponders my mind why I can't wait to get a game and get home only to have to wait 2-4 hours, or even longer, just to play the game. Thats what I love about the 360 is how I can just pop a game in, 4mb update occasionally, and
never if its a new game. Like come on, really, why isn't the new game I bought on the day it came out, have to have a 500mb or 1gb update. Like I just wanna play it now, when I purchased it. Please fix these ridiculous updates and try to get us in the game
faster, because to be honest that is my biggest problem since "Day One".

Probably answering myself here but if a game appears in my notifications saying launch, am i right to assume this has been updated? I noticed BF4 and COD in there just now so im assuming they have been updated.

ah so that's why I keep getting a notification to launch fifa 14! despite already playing it thought there may have been a problem with the install

 

Some of the updates are huge. Sniper Elite 3 had a 16GB patch on day one, lol. I honestly don't know why some of them are so big. I have 152 Mbps uncapped broadband, so it's not too bad for me, but a lot of people don't have that luxury. A friend of mine
bought a Titanfall bundle which came with the downloadable version of the game and it took him 20 hours to download it, cos he lives in an area where broadband over a phone line is very slow and the streets aren't cabled. If I fire up a game and a 1GB patch
needs to be downloaded, it only takes a minute or so, but for him that would take nearly an hour.

not looking for the differences.

So buy multiplatform releases on the 360?

Consoles moved to a PC-type model where patches are the norm. MS relaxed their certification rules and now you get larger patches.
Want smaller patches? Back MS's insistence on certification costing money and only being available for actual updates, not bugfixes.

There's nothing to "fix". This is what people apparently want.

 

No difference? like above maybe you need a new TV or isn't set up right. Though ghost doesn't look much better, but it does look at least a little better. Lazy devs IMO. There is a big difference in graphics and textures from 360 to x1 so that's why the
updates are bigger. The 6gb to 36gb install from the disk is because of what I said above and on x1 your fully installing the game the disk doesn't spin while you are playing. It just checks to see if you own it. On the 360 when you install from the disk it
isn't a full install. Just important things but still uses the disc.
