Game updates that are paused start by themselves after power on or reset

Hi all,

Ever since the big layout update on xbox one I have had this problem. Due to having a slow internet connection I have to pause many of my game updates. Basically everytime I turn on or reset my console all of the updates I've paused actually resume on their
own. I have gone through all the settings and I have the 'Keep console up to date' and 'Keep my games & apps up to date' unchecked. I also have the 'Power mode & startup' set to Energy saving. Is this a bug? Or is there a setting I have missed? Any help or
info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Updates auto queuing after a hard reset.

First of all, my Xbox One is set to "Instant On" so I can update my games overnight, however I can only do so many through one night and have the rest paused. Games also seem to take quite a long time to pause when they are updating or in queue.

(I cannot play many multiplayer games while games are updating, so I do one or the other.)

Now my question is, why is it that after a hard reset or when it is set to "Energy Saving" while it gets turned on, are all my games that are paused, auto queue themselves? This takes a good 10mins each time to go through and pause them all again. Which
is very often due to Xbox issues that require a hard reset (like processing extremely slow, etc). I find it extremely tedious.

Is there any work around?

NXOE Previe Dash Download Problem

Hi iam usinf the nxoe preview dash. I try to download a few games / updates for games. If the download is paused it wont start again. Saying download stopped. Anyone a idea or knows a worlaround?

Restarting the console or Hard reset it didnt work.

I'm sorry to see any issues with automatic downloads! This is definitely weird, and I was immediately going to come in here and have you check those settings. Looks like you've got that covered!

The last thing I would suggest is a
factory reset. Since you do have such a slow connection, I suggest keeping your games & apps first to see if that "console refresh" adjusts the operating system for you. This will ensure you don't have to reinstall all of your games.

Let me know how that works for you! We may need to look at other options, but I feel this may get everything sorted out.

I have tried to do a factory reset. I chose 'keep games and apps' but nothing happened. It made the chime noise when you select something but then it froze and went back to the home page. I have the 2tb Gears of War console, so it's fairly new. I'm not understanding
my this is happening. What were the other options we could try?

Hmmm, that sounds like a bigger issue might be going on. I know it will be a pain to download your games again, but have you tried the other factory reset option to wipe the console completely? The fact that the "keep my games & apps" one didn't work at
all suggests that the operating system didn't install properly on your console, and we'll need to start fresh. Let me know how that goes!

I was having issue.

I believe mine was linked to a paused update for another game which had gotten itself in a tiz.

Once I managed to get other game updating correctly again via hard resets after unpausing game update, I could add Batman to queue. Hard resets were not clearing issue whilst game update was in paused state.

Either way it'll be a coincidence. A Host reset pause could easily make someone move from where they were. For what you're proposing to be dubious, someone would have to have initiated the pause, remained in the game and be able to move themselves to another
person's location and stay advantaged. I very much don't think that's the case.
