Game updates over 100% and unplayable

Lost count of the games i cant play because of this problem, tried all the walkthroughs, nothing works and i refuse to format my external hard drive because i shouldnt have to. When are microsoft going to fix this? GTA went over 4000% and it never finishes,
unplayable. I have deleted lots of games and not bothered reinstalling them because its way too much effort and a waste of time because nothing gets them to download the updates and run. Its a joke that has been a problem since at least october last year,
why has it not been fixed yet?

Halo 4 : Unreadable disc

In the fifth week since release now, and no progress in solving the unplayable game. Get a refund, you all. MS, can we count on you paying back if the shops does not accept returns after over a month? It is abit too much to just throw away close to 100 bucks
on a game that is unplayable...

Like that but about 100 times worse since this makes the game actually unplayable.

 

Don't know what's happening tonight,but every game I've tried as booted me back to the dashboard. Thanks crash box.

 

Have you tried the old faithful hard resetting the Xbox?

 

Yeah i have tried all the suggestions in other posts about this, nothing works, frustrating. Just hope i dont get an update for battlefield 4, only one i can play at the minute

 

Sounds like its possibly your external hard drive..............just a thought.

 

It probably has got something to do with that but i never had any problems before the update and the console updated fine and so has battlefield with the last update. Dont understand why it should be a problem, obviously microsoft have changed something
and my xbox doesnt like it. I dont want to have to format my external hd. Ballache reinstalling everything.

 

nplug the hdd, reset console to factory, recover profile and plug in drive and check then
