Game updates on Microsoft store force entire game to reinstall

Hello!
Every time I download a game from the xbox app or windows store on my pc, everything works great until the game requires an update. For a split second the actual game update shows up (which tends to be around a couple hundred megabytes to a few gigs) and then the app starts to reinstall the entire game. When it gets to that point it's too late for me to cancel without having the entire game uninstalled from my computer. This issue is very annoying as with games like Forza Horizon 5, the game itself is upwards of 100 GB's which takes quite a long time as it seems the xbox launcher on pc limits my download speed. I already have automatic updates turned off but that doesn't seem to fix the issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

I only used Forza as an example since it's the most recent game I've had this issue with. This happens with every game I install from the Microsoft store, so it's not just a one time thing. Another example of this is Destiny 2 as it had a small 200 MB update last week which I believe was just to remove the seasonal event yet still required me to reinstall the entire game. I believe it's an issue as I have friends who have no issue updating games while I'm stuck here having to constantly redownload every game.

Forza 5 did that to me too earlier today, I took it that the game needed to be reinstalled alongside the update to remove all the bugs which has plagued the game since launch. I apologise for the inconvenience.

Ah so it's not just me then. This is ridiculous, small updates causing me to redownload the whole game again. I live in a quite rural place so my internet speed isn't great so i generally leave games to install overnight so then having to do it again basically makes the game unplayable. Like others have said, no such problems with Steam, Epic etc

I've been trying to look around for a possible fix as well, currently redownloading the entire 103gb for Forza Horizon 5 when the update file is only 8gb, going over 3mbps download speed. Been an issue for me for about a year now
