Game updates not installing. Please help.

Bought a used xbox one from my friend and have been playing destiny for a while no problem. I recently bought forza horizons 2 and tried to install it. after leaving my xbox on for most of the night it still was stuck with the update going from queue to
install but making no progress. Steps I have taken to correct the problem:

Uninstall

Hard cycle

Disconnect wired connection

Install from disc

Then install required update from online. It always gets stuck here. It got stuck again so i went ahead and did a factory reset. I then tried the same steps as above to no avail. It keeps getting stuck on the updates. After forza didn't install I tried to
re install destiny. I am now experiencing the same problem on a game that previously worked. I am feeling very frustrated right now as my xbox is basically useless.

Sorry to hear about the installation issues! I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. Are both games that you are trying to install on disc? If so, is the issue occurring directly after you reconnect your console to the Internet? If you are
trying to install the games from a disc, I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps. I understand that you may have already tried a few of them, but I want to make sure that you try them in a specific order:

• First, unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of your Xbox One console.
• From the Home screen, select My games & apps.
• Navigate to the game you are trying to install and press the menu button on the controller.
  
• Select Cancel.
• Once the download is cancelled, eject the game.
• Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
• Once your console has powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.
• Power on your console and try installing the game again by inserting the disc.
  
• Follow the prompts to install the game.
• Once the game has fully installed, reconnect your console to the Internet by plugging in your Ethernet cable.
  
• After you have connected your console to the Internet, the game update should start installing.

Hey Mister Quimby, thank you for your reply.

Both games are on disc. I followed the steps you outlined above. The disc installs fine, but when the required update comes along the install goes into queued and bounces back and forth between installing and stopping but never making any progress past 4%

What should I do now?
