Game updates corrupt game and then reloads in its entirety

Hi guys, the last few months i have found no matter the game update I receive, if i start it it will just sit without starting to do anything, my console then will not power down either ( i left it for over a hour). i will then power cycle console, upon
startup the games will be in update list but when i start it it is the full download. I have had to reload FIFA19 (+-50gb) RDR2 (93gb) F1 2018 (43gb) For HOnor (30gb) and many i have since just deleted due to not going to waste data.

I was on preview program, i have since left. both games on external and internal hdd having issue. Its a OG xbox One.

I am at point of getting rid of xbox.

Hello Japester,

Sorry for the issue with game updates. You can try a
soft factory reset If this is multiple games though we recommend a full factory reset where you wipe everything off the console. When doing this make sure to unplug the external hard drive from the console. When the reset is done install one game that been
having issues to the internal hard drive see if still has the issue.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

If that doesn't help try uninstalling/reinstalling the game.

Thanks for the swift reply! When it comes to any reset (either keeping games/apps or removing everything) any profiles that are on the console will be removed. Please be sure to have the email address and password for your (and any additional account if
needed) prior to performing a reset. Essentially, resetting your console to its factory defaults erases all accounts, saved games, settings, and home Xbox associations. Anything not synchronized with Xbox Live will be lost. Your console syncs with Xbox
Live automatically when it’s connected with the service, so if you've been offline for a while, you'll need to connect to Xbox Live before taking these steps. This also means that if you're game sharing, you'll need to set up the Home Console setting again.

Hi Brad, thanks for the helpful feedback. with a soft factory reset will i need to reinstall my profiles? i am currently gamesharing with my brother hence i want to know before i do this and possibly use up our last setting as home console?
