Game updates and turn off

So now whenever I turn my xbox off and log back in all of the 30+ updates I have paused are queued and all downloading.

I then have to go through the entire list one by one and pause them again, and half way through that the downloads just stop responding to me, always queued even if I hit update or install now.

Meaning I have to restart the console and start the whole process over again.

Some of the updates say they are at 100% but still continue updating, it's 100% at 495mb and a few minutes later it's 100% at 515mb.

I have power cycled my console, nothing changes.

I left my console on over night last night to clear some of the update backlog and it turned itself off. It is set to never turn off and this is not the first time this has happened.

The update issue started after new console update, the turn off issue has happened before that.

Game Updates not Auto Downloading

Why won't my Xbox one X automatically download updates overnight or during the day? I have to start the game, then it closes and starts and update when one is found. My current settings:

Updates:

Console: Keep console up to date - Checked

Games and Apps: When this is enabled your Xbox will automatically apply background updates to your games and apps: Checked

Power and startup;

-Turn off after: Do not turn off automatically.

-Power Mode - Instant-On

- When Xbox is off, turn off storage - Unchecked

 

Xbox One Automatic Annoying Updates

Seems like its either not downloading the updates while you have the XB1 off or you are leaving it on in which case its not going to update until you turn it off your message isnt entirely clear in that regard. Considering you said you "normally do not turn my Xbox One however"

If you turn the XB1 off with auto update on it will update. If you dont turn the XB1 off it will never auto update you will have to manually do it.

Auto Update is a feature that is used when the Xbox is off but still in that low lower state. It doesnt work when the XB1 is on.

Are these updates that you want or do not want? It's not clear from your post. If you would like your console to not install updates while it is turned off, there is actually a setting for that now. Open up your console's
Settings menu. Scroll down to System then select the
Updates box. The right-hand column is one you can check or un-check as you'd like.

If that doesn't help, post back with more information clarifying what is going on and we'll try something else.
