Game update loop

Hi,

I've been facing a frustrating issue trying to play PES 2017 on my Xbox 360 for approximately a week.

When I launch the game, I'm disconnected from Xbox Live and a dialog appears requiring me to update the app.

The update file (4 Mo) is downloaded and the app restarts.

The problem is that it doesn't seem to get installed, as the update dialog is displayed again (...and again, and again, like daring me to throw my controller at the screen).

I've read a lot of things about similar issues on these forums and tried it, like: clearing the cache (multiple times), deleting and downloading my profile again, reapplying a system update, unplugging all my devices (modems, console...) for a while, looking
for/deleting corrupted files, testing the connection to Xbox Live, resetting network configuration, completely deleting and reinstalling the game. No luck.

I then deleted/reinstalled another game, and an update requested in the exact same way as described above got installed smoothly, so it's seemingly just this game.

Some background: I bought the game just one month ago and played it regularly without any problem before this started to occur. IIRC the version of the app was higher then... So it looks like it was downgraded somehow (it shows version 1.00.00 in the app
now).

I also previously played with the Data Pack version 3.00 which is still there in storage, but it's not used because the version number displayed for the Data Pack in the app is 2.00.

I didn't use my console at all between the last flawless gaming session and the first time I experienced this.

If there's anything helpful I forgot to tell, please let me know.

Update Loop

ok i have a kinect sensor update loop, when i go on xbox live I go onto the search engine bing it will come up with a status code d0000221-00b96004-1ed9e66e i will still go in a loop if i do kinect id set up. i have tried clearing the cache, formating my
xbox, and also downloaded the update via USB i cannot play games online or offline and I have tried the X,LB,RB,X,LB,RB,X,LB,RB,X code that did not work either i cant not purchase or download anything of the marketplace nor use the avatar editor if you have
any solutions at all even if i have to take the damn thing apart i will be happy to I have work maybe 4 months on this i have tried burning it to a cd also, thank you If you have a solution to this

 

Update Loop

Hey, My Xbox 360 is stuck in an update loop and i cant figure out how to fix it, i updated it with dead island and my "status code" is 22fb-335a-b800-0f00-c000-003a

To check, what type of storage device are you using with your Xbox 360? If you're using a USB device, are you able to try removing that and playing directly with the Xbox 360 storage?

I'm using a USB device, indeed.

I can't put the game on the internal storage, if that's what you meant, because the only thing I got is a memory card whose capacity is not large enough.

Is there any way to clear up a bit of storage on your limited internal storage to make way for the update?

 

Hi,

There's actually way more free space on the internal memory card than necessary for the update, but I'm not given a choice on the update dialog, the device where it's downloaded is not even mentioned...

Have you tried deleting all associated content, including the data pack you mentioned? Just curious if that may be causing the issue.

 

Yes, I've tried that.

I also tried backing up all my data, formatting the USB HDD, deleting all non-system files on the internal memory, clearing cache, and downloading the game again. No change.

 

It sounds like it may be an issue with the external storage device in that case.

Do you happen to have a different storage device you can test? Let us know

I've been in contact with the game developer's support for a little while and after answering a lot of questions about my issue (the last one being to confirm the region where the game was downloaded...), I tried to update the game again today and it worked!

They haven't given me any explanation yet, but I believe it was due to the update file they had pushed.
