    GAME has always been expensive and staffed by boring know-nothing middle-aged A-holes surrounded by depressed looking twenty-somethings. Gamestation was the place to shop if you wanted staff who knew a thing or two (and cared), and deals that were worth
    a d.a.m.n.

    Then GAME bought Gamestation and turned everything into a GAME. Which was weird because GAME was being trounced by Gamestation. Why not change tac and call everything a Gamestation, and convert the practise at the flagging GAME stores into that of the successful
    Gamestation stores? lol

    But never fear. All the old staffers who worked for Gamestation and found themselves suddenly with GAME tags on - they're sprouting up all over running Grainger Games franchises, which are spreading from North to South across the country. Grainger Games
    is another Gamestation... so it won't be long until it grows enough to scare GAME like Gamestation did.

    Then maybe somebody with a brain at GAME will just suggest, "Let's do what they're doing! It obviously works better than our thrifty pick-pocketing purse-string-pulling A-hole approach."

  3. Game going to have more clout though as they have more shops n stores. It's just not Game though prices are stupidly steep on next gen. HMV prices are no different, it's the developers that set the prices not Game or HMV. This could be a no brainer in
    a years time a more powerful console ie Steambox and cheaper games.

    If people are prepared to pay the prices then it continue. Obviously Game must have a better deal in place finances to recommend PS4 over the One.

    Steam looks like the way forward at the moment.

    I think one thing that's hurt the gaming industry was that before the release of the next gen the average interest span in a game seemed to be about a week.

    If you can afford the games then the ONE has some great stuff on offer.

    They are games that cost £40 - £60 brand new, but that are also designed to last you for more than a week.

    Early on I started buying games thinking "Oh yeah, I'm gonna need a few different ones to keep me interested"... but that hasn't worked out as well as I thought because there's "Too much to do" in the games.

    This is not a bad thing. It means you're really getting your money's worth and at the asking prices for most games today, that's how it should be.

  5. Game is such a terrible store with snobby brain dead hipsters that know it all. They have pretty much become defunct here in Australia and I have no doubt this is why. A few years ago I was going to buy a component cable from game for the Wii, That was until
    the staff laughed at me and told me to enjoy 480p. I'm going to tell you guys this because it is unlike me to behave like this but my response was, Enjoy your MacDonalds you f%% ^&$k and then enjoy shutting down.

    @ you can't say that about a manager though, you do know a couple of years ago Game almost went bankrupt ? a lot of shops was shut down all over the uk. They was lucky to survive i could mention a few HMV being another that went into receivership.

    Tesco's managers was recently relieved of their jobs due to loss profits. I think if A brand sells more then the manager will order A brand stock then stock B.

    And it just not the uk the PS4 has sold better in it's also the USA too.

    @ Paraffin no one slated anyone but the PS4 has sold more fact! and by the end of the day it's about sales. Game will want a good Christmas and a healthy turn over as jan feb will be bleak.

    @ Azrael maybe that's down to the wages they pay their staff ? i don't know.

    I did hear once a convo by the staff at Granger Games saying they not been paid for weeks they was working very late hours to cover the busy Christmas period.

    I think it's very easy to pick fault with a retailer without considering wages, electricity cost, ordering cost, sales. Next gen games prices are hardly cheap at the moment expect £65 rrp for the next COD.

    Are you going to use any punctuation, any at all? Run-on sentences are difficult to read.

    What it sound like to me is the practices of the people who happen to work in the particular store that you have been in, and not the "business practices" of Game UK as an entire company.

    Game's business practices are to sell gaming product. If the product moves off their shelves into the customer's hands, it makes no difference to them what brand it is. They have made their profit from it, which is the only
    thing they're after. It would be counterproductive for them to have any brand loyalty.

    Everything is more expensive at GAME.

    You do get some good deals every now and then but they rely on Moms and Dads coming in to buy stuff for their kids at those prices rather than someone who knows you can get the same game for £15.00 + cheaper online or even at the supermarket.

    Sounds like that store has overbought PS 4's and is struggling to shift them and is now having to pile on the pressure to try and sell all those unwanted Playstation 4's.

    Or just tell your fiend to make up their own mind and decide for themselves. And not to let a sales person talk them into buying something.

    And slating a particular company in an on-line forum is not a particularly good idea!
