Game that made the biggest impact on you

Actually 6 and 7 are great. As LSL fans LSL1VGA, 5, 6 and 7 are must have. LSL Magnum Cum Laude and LSL Box Office Bust were failed money-spinners. Then Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded, sadly, was obviously Al Lowe tried to save the title from tombstone plus
market-tester for LSL 2 & 3 reloaded should it succeed but unfortunately no..... As a LSL die-hard fan how much I love this series but I also share your point that they'd better just leave the series alone.

 

1976 - Coleco Telstar. Black and white Pong-based game. We thought it was fantastic!

 

Halo, Gears of war and mass effect for me, But if we go all the way back to my first console then it would have to be the original sonic series on Sega Mega Drive.

 

I have a few standout moments -

Mario Kart on the SNES - trying to shave off hundredths of seconds off your lap times was incredible and the balloon game was the most fun I'd had on a game.

Doom on PS1 - the sound effects when walking down quiet corridors were genuinely chilling

Halo on Xbox - This was a whole new experience and incredible fun blowing up warthogs with grenades

GTA Vice City on PS2 - The 80s and Miami Vice all rolled into a GTA game!!!

In fact the more I think about it the more standout moments I keep thinking of...

 

Has to be the original Gears of War! Introduced me to online gaming back in 2007 and the competitive scene.

 

I love great storytelling in video games, and two games in particular- Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VII- made young me re-think the possibilities of what I could experience and feel when playing a video game.

I definitely think that among my favorite recent games, the ones that I'd say left the greatest impact on me (Celeste, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, What Remains of Edith Finch, among others) did so largely because of their storytelling aspects, and I can
trace that directly back to those amazing JRPGs of yesteryear.

 

CoD4 without a doubt.

Played that game for years, amazing game.

 

Two games: Ultima IV, (Master System) and, recently, Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice ...

 

halo 3! Without a doubt! I speant hour after hour playing halo 3 day in and day out. I was about 9 or 10 when I started playing it and loved the variety and creations of all the players. Unlimited custom games and maps. The community constantly played together
and bonded to play games. It was amazing! Halo reach was similar but was too “neat” the roughness of halo 3 and it’s forgemode is what’s made it fun. I miss those times. Xbox one players don’t come togetherness like Xbox 360 players did.

 

Ultima Online, as soon as I started playing an MMO I was hooked. From there it was EQ, Dark Age and almost all of them out there since. I have not been keeping up on the Free 2 Plays lately but Ultima Online started it for me and Dark Age was my favorite
PvP experience. For Xbox, I have been a Halo fan since the original.

 

Zelda: Ocarina of Time on N64. Will always be one of my all time favorites.

 

Gears of War, I remember I was quiet young when the first one was released and I was instantly hooked. The story was always good and very intriguing to me. Then came Gears 3 and destroyed my childhood as i knew it. R.I.P DOM

 

It was Resident Evil. I bought it on the day it came out and no one really knew much about it at that time. There was a scene early in the game where one of my friends screamed while watching me play because of a jump scare. It was an amazing moment that
I will always cherish.

 

for me it was Final Fantasy 7 then Forza Motorsport. Then Elite Dangerous haha

 

The Witcher 3, man ! that game is a masterpiece, it has set the bar pretty high for other games.
