    Game that is on a disc and downloaded, is not playing.


    I am having trouble playing Black ops cold war. I own the game on disc and have been playing it since 25th december 2020. however recently the game has stopped working and comes up with the following.

    when i load up the game, the game loads up perfectly with nothing wrong occurring, however when i Press A to start, it goes to the purchase Black ops Cold War screen that you would usually get if you don't have the game and try to go on it through Call of duty Warzone. All of my other games work perfectly fine and allow for me to play them, it is just Black ops cold war that does not allow me to play.

    i have tried everything i can think of:

    power cycle

    clear mac address

    complete xbox reset whilst keeping the games and apps

    deleting the game and redownloading the game

    removing all save files of cold war from my account and console and then deleting and reinstalling

    changing where the save data for the game is held ( from the internal storage device to an external harddrive)

    and many other methods, however it still doesn't work.

    Help would be appreciated. Thank you

    can you install one game while playing another

    You can't play a disc game while installing another disc game

    But you can play a disc game while another is downloading, play a download while installing a disc or play a download while installing another download.

    Gem: Are you saying you are having issues downloading the game, playing it in general, or playing it online? Is this a disc game, installed from the disc, or a downloaded game?

    TaulBaux,

    If you download a game using the disc then you will always need that disc to play the game. If you download a digital game, it is downloaded straight to your console which means no disc required

    ^^ Yes. If you bought the game digitally, it will show up on the One to download it. If you have a disc, you will need to put the disc in to download it & play. (You will still need the disc in to play the game.)

    Rockstar games said that you should download disc 1, the download disc, to your Xbox.

    For the play disc, disc 2, they said don't download it to your Xbox.

    So i'm guessing you should follow that.
