I may be able to help. There are quite a few testing stuff you have to keep in mind, though.

1. What kind of tests will you play? There are two: alpha and beta. The alpha is the game that is not quite done, but has the general gameplay. This is more of the single player and harder to get in, as most developers require Quality Assurance background.
Beta tests are very easy to find and the vast majority of the tests are MMO. Those are broken down by private and public. The private beta tests require access from the developer most of the time and are limited to a select group. Public betas are few but
you can access them without jumping through hoops.

2. What platform will you test on? XBOX doesn't have a whole lot of beta tests and very few, if any, alpha tests. It's a lot easier to find testing on PC, but be sure to look at the specs of the game before downloading it.

Also, you can search on Bing to look up beta test games. It's a plus, too, if you live in testing hotspots in which software developers are located. For example, EA has an office in Dallas, Texas (this is just an example so I don't know if they actually
have one) and they are testing a new triple-A game coming next year. If you live near Dallas, you can check local ads both in print and online about testing for that game.

It's also noteworthy that you are not going to get paid to test unless specified by the testers. However, becoming a tester can net you some cool points if you know where some trouble spots are and can point it out to the developers, no matter how insignificant
it may seem.

As with any job, you would need to find a publisher who is hiring testers, send in your resume/fill out their application, interview, etc.
