    when i sign on with my email address you automaticly change my gametag. when i tryed to correct the mistake and put my game tag back in your group said someone else had it already. yea!!!! i know i'm the someone else. had it for well over 10 years. plus
    i had credits still on my account. i doubt this will help but it's my first try at something.

    you got a forced name change cause your old name was against the rules you have 2 options keep old tag or pay to change it but you MUST keep it rated E for everyone. too many forced name changes results in a perm ban of the Live service. remember you cannot
    use profanity on names or words that sound like profanity which is what your old tag did.

    If the XBLPET changed your gamertag it's because it was deemed offensive. You will not get it back... as far as I know of whatever funds were on your account should still be there.

    sounds like you may have enterd your info wrong and the system created a new account and tag call support they should be able to fix it good luck.

    The free change is only given if you were given a randomly generated tag when you created your account and are changing that tag for the first time. If you chose your tag when you signed up, that was your free change.

    The free gamertag change is only given if you were given a randomly generated tag when you signed up and are changing that tag for the first time. Since the tag you're using is not a randomly generated one, you would have chosen it when you signed up so
    you technically have already used your free change. You will have to pay if you want to change your tag.
