I agree. When games are cranked out on a yearly basis, it does take something away from the experience.

It's all down to personal tastes and enjoyment.

Personally i still really enjoy Destiny, but there isn't a lot to do any more - Will i buy this new DLC? more than likely. It depends on how good the division is as to whether i'll go back to destiny or not as i like games with a co-op element but im worried
with the division that it'll be dead in a month due to shoddy content

I'll buy all dlc for The Witcher 3 because I love it but I wouldn't buy a season pass for it. I like them to support a game with campaign dlc for around a year and then start on a new project. I can always use more TW3.

    ..........

    Hello everyone :)

    ..........

I know that I am young and not as much of a gamer as most you are, but I have a confession to make regarding the new trend that is happening with gaming today.

    ..........

I miss the good old days where we had to wait for the next game to come out. Here is what I mean :)

    ..........

Halo Combat Evolved was released in 2001

Halo 2 was released in 2004

Halo 3 was released in 2007

    ............

Using the Halo games that I just listed, there is a sense of specialness and anticipation for Halo 2 after I completed Halo Combat Evolved. This same specialness and anticipation was also present for Halo 3 after I completed Halo 2 :)

    ..........

I don't know how to describe it, but waiting 3 years for the next version of a game in a series worked well for Halo :)

    ..........

Maybe its because I'm a Girl that I feel this way LOL :)

But, I have a much deeper appreciation for a game that isn't rapid fire released (a new game each year) because these games (games that don't come out every year) typically have amazing content and quality. These games are not being rushed out of the door
    :)

This combination of amazing content and quality allows the game to stay relevant until the next game in the series comes out :)

These games typically don't have expansion DLC and they are a testiment / standard to what a " base version of a game " should have :)

    ..........

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone :)

    .........

I would go more into greater detail of what I think about certain games, but in the best interest of not being eviscerated all over again and maintaining the peace / harmony of the Forums, I will simply dub the following as the " Nameless games ".
Now where's the fun in that? Lol.

    Peace, J.R.

I don't buy download content. I am a very casual gamer and have been since the Original XBOX so the original game is generally all I have time to play as I always have a backlog to fall back on.

I came in here all ready to tell you how proud I am that my wife is still supportive of my gaming habit after... many... years. Busted my bubble! X(

but if the build time for a game is 5 years which is roughly Elders Scrolls build time, while I would love a new one now, i know there is no way they can release them that soon, would you be happy with DLC until the
next release or should it stop after a year?

I also think its different for different game types, solo campaign, I don't buy DLC generally.

I'm more likely to buy campaign DLC than I am MP. I guess I kind of feel like I get more bang for my buck that way since, if I liked the game enough to buy DLC anyway, I know I
don't need to be concerned about how many people might still be playing if I get the urge to play it again at a much later date.

I'll still buy MP DLC... but only if I know I'll be playing it a lot and will 'get my money's worth' in a short time. That's why I don't bother with season passes anymore. I want
to know what I'm getting before I get it. If I lose interest in the game, find another game I like better, or just don't like some parts of the content... Season Pass = wasted $ for me.

With games like TES, (and this is just MPO of a great way to do it) I wish they'd continue releasing DLC for awhile. I loved the schedule and the DLC they put out for Skyrim...
well... I admit I wish it hadn't taken quite so long to release it. What I think would be a cool idea, would be to release DLC on a pretty regular schedule, but stop releasing about a year before the next game in the series. Give or take on that 'wait time',
depending on how long the DLC lasts for the average player... but I think a bit of waiting for the next installment is a good thing. Lets anticipation build and keeps the game from feeling like it's getting old. Not to mention other games should be able to
fit in as well. But that's just me.
